Epic end to an epic series!

Wow. So many manly tears shed across all books and this is probably one of the most fulfilling and satisfactory endings to any series I have, in this case, listened. So many distinguishable characters. So many vivid scenes. So many great turns and memorable, plot twists that are not over the top and confusing. It was really hard to take a break from listening to do something else.
Also great Matt Bate's performance - from his voice, voice acting to clearly displayed emotions.
It was a great ride! It will be very hard now to find any other historical fiction set in the era to come even close to the quality of Bernad Cornwell.

My favorite series ends on a high

Loved every book in this series. Matt Bates makes the story come alive. The writing is so vivid that I can't imagine how a movie could make the details for realistic. I'll miss the new adventures of friends...but they will always be just a re-listen away.

A worthy end to the saga of Uhtred, as always expertly narrated. Highly recommended

Great book

Masterfully written and finished leaving a smile on my face. I was a bit apprehensive of a poor ending after spending so much time on this story. Also enjoyed the historical notes following the story. I highly recommend this series of books.

Great ending to an epic saga

Reading all 13 novels have been paid a pleasure. The final installment of The Last Kingdom series does not disappoint.

Loved the whole series. The ending did NOT disappoint. Author and narrations superb. Will look for more by B Cornwell.

My favorite of the entire series

I’ve enjoyed all the novels in this series, but this one was particularly captivating and hard to predict. The battle scene was well described and the characters came to life. Well written.
