Love the story line of entire double series BUT...

The author writes as if she has to use as many words as possible. I skipped sections because of the list of name of "her" dead over and over. And "VISCERAL"? That is a word I can do without hearing ever again. This why you use a thesaurus.

Loved it, Love this book series, Sun Sword series & the Chronicles of Elantra series as well. So glad they're all being put on Audio, now they need to be made into movie's :)

Awesomeness

The end was better than I could've hoped for. I love Eva's voice. Everything about this series is so on point!

Much ado about nothing

I read seven books for this?! I had a hard time forcing myself to finish this one. I hung in through seven books despite the author’s wordiness and redundancy because of the great world building. But it went nowhere. The excessive introspection and pointless posturing are hand waving so you don’t notice that this is a soap opera minus romance.

Disappointing

There was no reason for books 6 & 7 to have been seperated. The amount of inner monologue from almost every main character was mind numbing. I can't express my disappointment more then to say that I will never purchase another one of Michelle Wests' books again. She has wasted mine and everyone else's time with these last books. I was hoping for redemption with WAR after the volume of filler in FIRSTBORN, but this was an even bigger failure then the last.

As for the audio reader, the voices she adopted for the various characters was grating. I understand that a few of them needed to reflect a pompous attitude, however, the narrator made not only the Cats (expected) but everyone else sound like whiney annoying toddlers.

Meh,

I was very excited to see this book on Audible. I wish I could say that I ws captured by it. I found myself skipping entire sections. I didn't care anymore about the characters or Jewel or how the series would end. I think there was one too many books to this series (e.g. Oracle)

I definitely didn't live up to the trilling story told in the first book in the series.

Boring! Stupid! I’m Boredddd!

I am so disappointed in this book, the amount of emotional inner monologue from every character was just boring! It was filler and so not needed. I don’t know what happened to the Editor on the last two books but the pace was glacial, how can you call this book WAR when you interrupt every ACTION scene with a different characters boring inner Monologue, which by the way was repeated almost every time the character was the focus of the story. The books became more about the Cats antics and each characters emotions than anything else. I have read every book in the extended series from the beginning, like first run paperbacks before Kindles. I never expected it would end like this. SMH IN DISGUST!! Cute how the WAR wasn’t the WAR!! I guess there is more to come.
