Publisher's Summary

Hailed as "the queen of paranormal romance" by J.R. Ward, #1 New York Times best-selling author “Christine Feehan continues to amaze readers” (The Eternal Night) with her phenomenal novels. Now, from the author of the Dark Carpathian series, comes the newest in Christine Feehan's explosive GhostWalker series…

GhostWalker Wyatt Fontenot knows the price he paid for the secret military experiments that gave him his special catlike abilities. After all, he left his bayou home a healer and came back a killer. While Wyatt and his GhostWalker brother Gator may have known exactly the sort of game they were getting into, Wyatt never anticipated where it would lead - or to whom.

The swamps hold many mysteries, but few are as sinuously seductive as Le Poivre de Cayenne. The woman the locals call Pepper is every bit as enigmatic as the three little girls she’s desperately trying to protect. From what, Wyatt is soon to discover. Right now Pepper needs a man like Wyatt. Passionately. But her secrets are about to take them both deeper into the bayou than either imagined - where desire is the deadliest poison of all.

Disappointing in the extreme

My least favorite installment in the series. I've always in enjoyed the Ghost Walker books in spite of their hyper-sexual nature because the science was possible if not probable and the storyline fast paced and engaging.

This installment was tiresome filled with too much pointless chatter and rehashing of the same topic repeatedly. Ghost Walker male leads are always dominate males with tendency to be over protective of their women. Wyatt was the least likeable of all the male leads and made excuses for his verbally abusive behavior because of his genetic alteration. His decision to have even become a ghost walker in light of his advanced knowledge of what would happen to him was unbelievable. His treatment of his female lead was not in the spirit of the series at all.

This installment did not advance the series overall story line. Frankly this might be my last because for the first time the book was all about the sex, not the people having it or the ghost walkers fight for their place in the world.

Great story.

Loved the reader. But over the top sex. Got to be too much of the stiliry. We get it that he's Mr. Arrogance but I wouldn't like that trestment.

Viper was fantastic.

This one maybe my favorite, although I like all Christine Feehan books. Oh my, help me find a Cajun man.

Better than ever!!!!

This book was exactly what a Ghost Walker reader would expect, but the way the narrator read the story gave it so much more depth and character than if I had just read the book myself. I loved the voices, drawl, and accents. His cadence and tone set the mood perfectly. Amazing!!!

Another Great GhostWalker Instalment

Any additional comments?

Christine Feehan’s GhostWalker series is, for me, an instant download. Peter Whitney’s machinations are still being played out, only now it’s with Wyatt’s group Team 4, the Air Force team. We get to see Nonny again. I love her, nothing fazes her, and she has genuine love for each of them. I especially loved her telling Wyatt how she had to “snap” her tea towel to disciple one of the Fortune brothers. Pepper states that there are five more women in her group, which, hopefully, means at least five more books in the series. There is slight background for each of the team members, which is sufficient for this telling, as it’s about Wyatt.
Tom Stechschulte, of course, does his usual excellent narration.

Totally disgusted at the treatment of the heroine!

I'm sorry, I have been reading Christine Feehan's books for over a decade now and I was physically ill at the relationship between Pepper and Wyatt in this novel. I don't care what his "excuses" were. The way he treated her with jealousy and complete dominance was stomach turning and I can only pray that he is the only "Ghostwalker" in her literary stable that behaves so badly. Completely disappointed in the author, the story, and the money wasted.

50 shades of viper, most disappointing

I've bought most of Feehan's books but was really disappointed in this one. I sat in a traffic jam for almost an hour & the entire time the same love scene was endlessly going on, nothing like a obnoxiously over bossy Cajun & a submissive viper.. What happened to the action packed ghostwalkers?
