Male reader is too monotone.

Male is too monotone. No emotion in his storytelling. It was hard to follow him because he was so boring…

Not ground breaking, but good.

I finished in two days. The story isn't groundbreaking. It's like a mashup of the hunger games and ACOTAR. It's good but predictable. I like the female narrator. The male narrator is overly breathy, and he trails off at the end of his sentences, almost mumbling the last word. It's not terrible, but I hope he stops doing that in the next book where he's going to have more parts. Overall, it's entertaining. The dialogue is cringy in her first meeting of the prince, but otherwise fine.

Great story, but narrator is whiny

This was a wonderful story. It had me interested from the beginning. However, the longer I listened to the narrator, she made the main character sound whiny and bratty. Everything was said so breathy and over exaggerated it was hard to stay sympathetic to her situation.

This book was just okay because it was very similar to Throne of Glass. Not bad but very similar so I gave it 3 stars.

ACOTAR and The Bachelor had a Love Child

Very good and interesting take from the get go. Immediately enraptured. The trials were well thought out, as were the characters. The only comment I can give is I was confused by the Aurora Prince’s storyline. I didn’t understand why we had him as a main POV until he was meant to go to the ball. Like I KNEW how he was important, and then things started clicking into place after that. Overall though, a very good and exciting read! Can’t wait to crack open the next installment :)

Fun story

Fun story. I will continue the series. The written dialog is my one critique. Tropes: hidden identity; games and trials; possibly fated mates.

Was okay

Starts off very slow but picks up and becomes interesting. Would suggest listening at 1.2x speed to make the narrator more bearable.

Lor is that girl.

I love the writing, the narrator, the opening line? 10/10. Have read twice in one week.

Pretty good

Kind of like a mashup of the selection, throne of glass, and red Queen vibe. Good book if for if you have read everything else and need a new read because you have a book hangover.
