The gripping new Cato and Macro adventure in Simon Scarrow's bestselling Eagles of the Empire series. Not to be missed by readers of Conn Iggulden and Bernard Cornwell.

Tribune Cato and Centurion Macro are based on the eastern border of the Empire, facing Rome's deadly enemy Parthia. The signs are that Parthia is preparing for war. And the two battle-hardened veterans are ready for their greatest ever military challenge.

The Next Chapter in the series. Well worth the read; not the best of them but plenty good enough.

Solid and Unsurprising

I always enjoy the adventures of Cato and Macro. There’s not one book in the series that has disappointed me in slightest. On top of it always being a good story, with each book, I feel I grow closer to the pair. The perfect balance that Scarrow has created by developing two characters who very different from one another really takes a hold of you and keeps you wanting more. I hope we get another 20+ books on these two!

Oh and Keeble is a perfect fit for this type of material. Between these and Bernard Cornwell’s books he’s performed, I hear his voice more than some of my family members and do not regret it.

Always a treat!

There hasn’t been a bad book in the series. My hope is that Mr. Scarrow stretches it through the Year of the Four Emperors. Either way I highly recommend!

Fantastic

I think Scarrow's writing is top notch. It stands out way above most of the books in my library. But the story is just okay, nothing special. I would gladly buy more of his books if I knew which ones had good stories.

Extremely well written but "meh" story.
