Publisher's summary

Too Nice for Sales is a compilation of moments of my life and what those moments taught me about sales techniques. I currently run one of the most successful real estate teams in the country, and our team utilizes the sales approaches found in this audiobook; they are based on Biblical principles.

More than 10 years ago, I had a crisis of faith, as I learned how to be a successful salesperson while wrestling with dishonest techniques to make a sale. This audiobook is a deep dive into what I learned during these struggles and core reason my business is a success today.

Amazing read

I would like to thank Barry for opening up and showing us he is human. I loved the book and can relate to his story. It gives me the confidence in knowing its ok to not be perfect. That your past does not define your future and as long as you are genuine people will follow and work with you. Loved the ylopo tips as well.

Great without the last chapter

It really would’ve been great without the last chapter. I can’t even convey to you how much it meant to listen to your testimony and your faith in God and Christ. Thank you. The last chapter was an absolute gift.

Success while being honest, transparent and caring

"Too Nice For Sales: A Practical Guide to Ethical Lead Conversion" is a breath of fresh air in the world of sales literature. Authored by an industry expert, and someone who has a background in the ministry, this book offers a valuable perspective on sales techniques that prioritize honesty, transparency, and building genuine connections over aggressive and pushy tactics.

One of the book's greatest strengths is its emphasis on ethical conduct in the sales process. It recognizes that sales should not be solely focused on closing deals but on fostering long-term relationships built on trust and mutual benefit. By promoting integrity and authenticity, "Too Nice For Sales" challenges the notion that successful salespeople must resort to manipulation or high-pressure tactics.

The author provides practical advice and strategies to engage potential clients in a respectful and considerate manner. The book delves into the importance of active listening, empathy, and understanding customer needs. By genuinely caring about the customers and their concerns, sales professionals can foster relationships based on trust and respect. This approach not only increases the chances of conversions but also cultivates a loyal customer base.

Furthermore, "Too Nice For Sales" tackles the misconception that being assertive and being nice are mutually exclusive. The author demonstrates that it is possible to be assertive while maintaining a friendly and empathetic demeanor. By offering helpful solutions and being transparent about products or services, sales professionals can effectively guide potential clients without resorting to aggressive tactics.

The book's conversational tone and practical examples make it an engaging and accessible read. It is evident that the author possesses a deep understanding of the sales industry and the importance of ethical practices. The concepts and techniques outlined in the book are applicable to various sales scenarios, making it a valuable resource for salespeople of all levels of experience.

In a world where customers are increasingly wary of being manipulated, "Too Nice For Sales" provides a refreshing alternative. It promotes a more human-centered approach to sales, prioritizing relationships, trust, and ethical conduct. If you are looking to enhance your sales skills while maintaining your integrity, this book is a must-read. It will inspire you to redefine the meaning of success in sales and to embrace an ethical and authentic approach that benefits both customers and sales professionals.

Finally something new

A book that finally speaks my language. Love the way Berry thinks and cares about his clients. This book is very helpful to understand what to say & how to say it that will connect with people. I understand that AI is all the rage but the “artificial” part is what Berry turns into Human. If you care about people and your “human” you need to read this book.

Professor Barry has a wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise in sales. I enjoyed listening to the stories of his background and experiences that shaped his attitude and develop his mindset. He clearly explains his fresh approach to real estate sales, and gives detailed examples of how to apply it when prospecting. His integrity and love of people shine through and set the standard for us all to follow. This is a must-read for professional real estate agents.

This is a must read!!

Short, Simple & clear!! This book changed my perspective about prospecting. I don’t like pushy salespeople so that was a conflict for me when prospecting. But you don’t need to be one when calling people! Barry explains & gives actionable steps to a warm, honest, & more effective way of reaching out buyer or seller ‘leads’.

Great info but terrible narration

Great info (if you are ok with the multiple Christian references). The narration is, unfortunately, not good at all. I had to listen to it at 1.4x speed to make it sound even remotely like a conversation. It was obvious that the narrator had not read the material and there were a lot of mispronunciations, pauses, etc during the reading that were obvious even at the increased speed. This makes me sad for Barry as I feel the info would have been much more impactful with a smoother narration.

The Must Have Real Estate Mindset

The techniques in this book are not just theoretical, but performed every single day by one of the highest producing real estate teams in America. I know the author and he is real, impassioned, and it's an absolute teacher by heart.

Perhaps since I know him, the narrator does not accurately perform with a cadence of Harry himself. More of a sentence more than a story teller. Regardless, the material make it's must read for any agent trying to build his/her business.

Just get it. Listen to it. But the hardcopy, and read it as well. Then watch your business grow.
