Great series

Simply love this series, as most book by this author. A must read for fans of historical fiction.

Christian Cameron Groupie

I have to say that this is NOT my usual genre but it was adjacent enough to my usual historical fiction that I decided to give it a try. 1. The stories are really good and the main character is very likable- enough to get me to listen to all 4 of the series! 2. Peter Noble is a magnificent reader- he could probably make the phone book interesting 3. The level of historical detail is spot on without being too heavy! Mr Cameron, I will be starting another one of your series ASAP!

Fantastic

I’ve actually stopped writing reviews for Christian Cameron because I feel like I say the same thing every time. And look, I love historical fiction, so I’ve read a lot of it - abs only discovered Mr. Cameron during the pandemic.

And I haven’t read anything by him that wasn’t deserving of five stars - and this was definitely no exception. The character development over the course of the four books is fantastic, story lines always interconnect with few vagaries, and he stays in line with what was a tidally occurring at the time to the best of a fiction writer’s ability to do so.

I eagerly await the next in line.

Other great books from Cameron

More Tom Swan adventures. Plots are complex and take attention to follow but enjoyable. Would recommend

il libro era perfetto

Well another Tom Swan adventure in the bag and I can’t wait for the next! This is such a wonderful series and I love just how much all of the principle characters have grown since the beginning. Luckily Swan will have at least 6 years until the next papal election, plenty of time for a good fight.

Excellent novel

The novel was well paced, suspenseful and a delight to listen to. There was strong character development and the author made you feel compassion for some of the villains. As is often true in life, it was sometimes difficult to distinguish the heroes from the villains.

First book that really sets Swan apart from Gold

A fantastic book as usual from Cameron.

We start to see some more character growth that sets Swan apart from Gold rather than just being in a setting a couple hundred years in the future.

You really get a good feel for how tired Swan is of it all and how he literally asks, "When will it ever end"

Peter Noble is of course 10/10 as always as well especially with all the pronunciations
