Publisher's summary

Jack Ryan, Jr., will do anything for a friend, but this favor will be paid for in blood in the latest electric entry in the number-one New York Times best-selling series.

Jack Ryan, Jr., would do anything for Ding Chavez. That's why Jack is currently sitting in an open-air market in Israel, helping a CIA team with a simple job. The man running the mission, Peter Beltz, is an old friend from Ding's Army days. Ding hadn't seen his friend since Peter's transfer to the CIA 18 months prior, and intended to use the assignment to reconnect. Unfortunately, Ding had to cancel at the last minute and asked Jack to take his place.

It's a cushy assignment - a trip to Israel in exchange for a couple hours of easy work, but Jack could use the downtime after his last operation. Jack is here merely as an observer, but when he hastens to help a woman and her young son, he finds himself the target of trained killers. Alone and outgunned, Jack will have to use all his skills to protect the life of the child.

It’s about time!!

I am a huge Tom Clancy fan. As such I have followed the books from the beginning, both Ryanverse & The Campus. In the off months as I wait for the next book release, I have become a fan of The Gray Man series. Over the last several years, given the similarity of the two story lines, I have often wondered what it would be like if the two crossed paths, even if just briefly. Then to my surprise, here in Chapter 26, the subtle reference to The Gray Man series by Mark Greaney. Loved it and made me laugh out loud. Thanks to all the authors that collaborate together to try and keep this series and story line going.

Another excellent part to this ongoing series

Mr. Bentley is a great successor to the others who've come after Mr. Clancy's sudden death. Scott gives another fine performance. The normal fun fair of Clancy, even if the ending is already known.

A little too James Bond like

Overall a good story. Narration spot on. The only reason this isn't ranked higher is that Jack has now surpassed James Bond and Mr. C. The entire last quarter of the book is more Vin Diesel XXX or Fast and Furious series than any Tom Clancy book - ever. I had a hard time finishing this one.

good story

I thought the story was good, in the end I was not sure if it was Jack Ryan Jr or Bruce Willis.

Over all, enjoyed story

Excessive detail. For example, detailed information about almost every weapon grabbed, reached for or…
Could eliminate an hour off book with no loss of story.

Exceptional! Stunning!

This book was exceptional!

Don Bentley did an excellent job of taking over the franchise.

The book was fast moving and action packed. Don Bentley's experience in combat came through.

I enjoyed Jack being on his own , and getting into his head for a change.

I even had tears in my eyes with the message Jnr sent his dad and with Daisy the pilot. Well done!

Poor Jnr really got worked over!

Scott Brick is THE BEST narrator and there is no one who can bring Jnr to life like him.

A winning combination!

It is going to be a looong wait for the next one!
