Moral of the story

I was the wrong audience for this tale. As an adult I found it somewhat boring; the story was geared more towards the adolescent so I really can’t speak for them. However, I give it a high score for its moral intent. The moral of the story is that connivance leads to trouble and unselfish intent is rewarding.

Good clean humorous take on magic!

I appreciate that the author did not stoop to toilet humor, but was original and funny! I'd recommend this for adults and children alike!

A must-listen

This story was very entertaining with twists and humor and a great moral lesson. I recommend this to anyone who feels like they just can’t seem to do anything right.
Carey Mulligan shines reading this book. She did a wonderful job with the different voices and inflections; the characters really came to life.

Absolutely entertaining, especially if you like Harry Potter with a twist of Terry Pratchett mixed in! Pure magic it was!

Very entertaining for adults and young adults.

Full of whimsical mischief and good clean humor. Would have said appropriate for all ages, but the death of the villain was a bit gruesome. Still, overall greatly entertaining and you can't beat the price as an Audible included title.

A most enjoyable listen!

Carey Mulligan is a notable actress, but she is spectacular as a book reader. This story is great, but her performance takes it to next level. The book is very family friendly, perfect for a long car ride. Would very much like to hear more from her and these authors.

1st book

This was my first book on Audible and I wanted something to help get me used to listen to a book instead of reading. This was a nice little fantasy with a great story line.

Don't regret giving it a try

was sceptical at first, loved every bit of it.
audible forces me to write 15 words in a review, which is incredibly stupid. there's nothing more to say. This book is simply amazing and definitely worth a try.

Good book. More please.

Interesting book. It wasn’t much like the worst witch, despite what i thought at the start.
Weird story line though.

Cool Book

Great comedy throughout but shockingly grim sound effects at the end. Word. Word. Word.

in response to Pauls Review

Great Book. Paul you do realise the dropped T's are the accents of the characters? Not every Britt is educated at Eton the T's being dropped is pretty standard for working class accents. What a silly comment.

Brilliant

it was amazing. the story was good, the only thing was that the narrator kept not saying the letter t. It doesnt have to be perfect but if you could improve it just a little, it would be great. thankyou.

Spot of fun

Carey Mulligan is the reason why I listened to this and for the first half I found the story engaging. It took a turn after the death of Caliban and just became more fanciful.

It was a fun distraction while I was exercising but as an adult I was left wanting more from this children’s tale.

Can’t fault Carey and hopes she voice acts more works soon!
