Valuable Lessons in these days that we are in.

the narrator was excellent!!
the story turn some unexpected turns.
the characters are very memorable especially the evil ones and of course the good ones.
there were times that I was wishing bad things would happen to the main villain. no spoliers here but J.K.Rowling's solution to evil characters was much kinder than mine would have been.
Great moral lessons for all ages especially in these dark times that we are living in right now.
J.K. Rowling once again thank you for this gift to your devoted readers.
You have revived my love of reading great stories once again.
Highly reccommended to old fans and new of JKR's works.

Great story

Stephen Fry is a suburb narrator. The story is told like an old oral history.

Best Book Ever!

This is wonderous, beautiful, perfectly written tale of a good country taken into sloth and hatred by selfish, dishonest leaders.

A few amoral people became powerful, cruel and wealthy while children were separated from their parents, hundreds of thousands of people died from the lies and neglect and most people became poorer and more scared.

For a while lies and distrust abounded.

Then, the people of the country began to realize that they’d been lied to and taught to fear.

They gathered together, learned the truth and cast out the evildoers.

They chose new leaders, told the truth, helped their neighbors and rebuilt a happy and prosperous nation for all the citizens.

It’s a beautifully told tale of a once happy people brought low by listening to false prophets and then regaining their understanding of truth and beauty and once again becoming a country based on the nobility of truth, unity and shared prosperity and love.

Inspiring!

A rather gruesome fairy tale

I would compare this to original Grimms fairy tales. There are a lot of mean people in power that do a lot of killing and a lot of harm to the country before things turn around and goodness wins out.
I would not recommend this for very young children.
Steven Fry is a wonderful narrator and does an excellent job with this story.
