Decent

While I agree it drug out a bit I thought it was decent. For me the way the narrator pronounced “says” was the most absolute annoying thing ever! Yea I listen to British books all the time and have never heard it pronounced that way and I almost could not take it!

This will make a good movie!

I really enjoyed the book - it was suspenseful. I think there is a lot they could do to adapt this to the big screen.

Predictable and way too long.

The performance was stellar but the title and story wasn’t original and quite tedious for me to finish honestly but I finished it lol (twenty years later vibes and the title is too close to the girl on the train) 😢 😑

Intriguing

Interesting storyline and captivating! This book will keep you listening for hours, never dull moment.

Suspended in suspense

I personally loved the slow pacing and the narrators work! A vibrant and caring voice taking on the task of portraying the protagonist and all of her surrounding interactions was a pairing I felt went swimmingly well! And the colloquial pronunciation of the word says tickled me every time! It felt more genuine and immersive in a story from a place where I’m not from myself. I disagree with a lot of the top comments on this book. Give it a listen if you want a full story with all of its details in place. If you have patience beyond that of a short form video. If you are willing to get lost in the suspense of an emotional internal battle of will and subterfuge. Take a moment and enjoy the flowers in your hand. You might drop them while you get caught up paying attention to this story!

Just okay.

This book has a lot of potential, but drags on with repeative storyline with an unlikable main character. Once you get passed that, it was good to listen to while you do chores or drive.

Very Slow Start

I tend to like this author, but this book was a rough one to try not to finish. Great twist at the end, but many parts of the story could have been taken out to make it more interesting.

Original storyline great narrator

Understand how others say it is a long story but I wasn’t in a rush! It was a unique storyline and the narrator carried it through with a beautiful voice and cadence. Almost didn’t listen bc of reviews but so glad I did. I prefer listening to accents unlike my own American voice and find varied pronunciations interesting and charming. The narration made it a pleasure to invest time in a longer listen and I prefer that to a short story.
