Why do the husband’s always treat their wives/girlfriends/SO’s like they’re insane?! The way the wife is made to feel like she’s crazy was a theme throughout the book. It drove me crazy!

The narrator’s voice for the 2.5 yr old girl is cringey. I have 2 kids and they never talked the way this character does.

Not sure if I’ll be able to finish the book, but we’ll see. Will update if/when I do.

Story Drags On

This story is intriguing in the beginning and by the middle it’s infuriating because I wanted the protagonist to stop whining and being scary and take action already 😅

Kept my interest, but..

The story is very interesting, but it's also very annoying. Our heroine is weak and wishy washy. She lets her husband and others walk all over her and it grates. Also in the end it wrapped up okay except you have to listen to more apologizing unnecessarily and people don't even do the right thing morally or legally.

The story kept me attached the whole time. couldn't put the book down.

Tries So Hard

Tries so hard to have twists and turns, but all were very predictable. I liked the narrator for every character, but the little girl. I was already struggling to have any empathy for a child going through a very bad case of the terrible twos, and the narrators choice made her even more unlikable.
I really struggled to like any other character characters in the story (a personal hiccup of mine ), so I was hoping for a good ending that would make the hours listening a little bit more meaningful.
Overall, somewhat entertaining, but highly predictable way to kill 11 hours.

Unlikeable characters

Overall I liked the storyline but I found almost every character irritating. An insecure lead and poor communication always rubs me the wrong way.

cast performance was great

There were twists that were very unexpected. Enjoyed it to the very end. Good listen!

Creepy horror story well done!

Loved this well narrated story of family, intrigue, creepy neighbours and twisted characters! Loved it. Engaging and believable.

Entertaining but predictable

Decent story but fairly predictable. Entertaining but not amazing. Worth listening to while waiting for new credits

Annoyed with Gaslighting theme

Why oh why is it that men taking the side of another woman other than their wife/partner/fiancee/girlfriend, is ok! For once I’d like to read about a man that listens to their significant other and see things from their perspective. Instead of scolding their partner for disliking their neighbor he takes the side of the neighbor throughout the book (that grated on my nerves). I have 4 hours of the book left but will give a full review when I compete it.
