Publisher's Summary

Ricci Velez is a fiercely independent woman that worked her way up from the poverty line to become a respected engineer and property developer. Mistaken as the little wifey by Tara Reeves, the new tenant at her Manhattan apartment building, Ricci wants to evict her before she even signs the lease. A slighted ex-tenant, a vandalized apartment, and an interfering best friend means that she’s forced to offer Tara a room in her own apartment. Can she survive having the secretive hard-nosed executive judging her in her own home? Worse still, can she survive her match-making mother shamelessly besotted by the temporary housemate?

The first story was terribly frustrating

I got this for free thankfully. I picked it up because Lori and Abby are my two favorite narrators. The first story is narrated by either fielding or Lawrence. Dunno. But although her voice was crazy cute she was dry. The first story was extremely hard to finish. I enjoyed the story for the most part. Until it becomes clear this was written for high school lesbians or something. The sex scenes were only implied, which is I guess fine as long as the story is cute and romantic but nope. The two leads go back and forth never quite communicating their feelings or getting together. When I thought the denouement was occurring, something interrupted them. After the 5th time of the ladies dancing around their feelings I actually literally rolled my eyes. The ending was so abrupt it didn’t even close to make up for the previous few annoying chapters.
Rica was frustrating as hell and any self respecting woman wouldn’t do what she does regardless of the past. And Tara would’ve given up. Sorry it’s not a super good love story.

Great writing

This is my second book in as many days by this author and I have to say I will continue to read her work. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the characters and if your are reading this review stop thinking about it and get this book. The only slight complaint I have is that there was no true sex scene. The characters have sex but the details are mostly glossed over. Some people might not have issues with this but I was a little disappointed myself. Regardless, the story kept me up all night, literally, so in the end that didn’t really matter. Get it ;)

This was amazing

I didn't even know that Camryn Eyde had any of her booms in Audible but apparently she does and luckily I had a credit availble to snatch this one up. I loved all the stories that are included in this one especially Woman Upstairs and Celebrity Pass. All the narrators are amazing. This one is definitely worth a purchase.

i did really enjoy this bool.

there were a few points at which i wondered whether the author had a beta reader. the logic of thw apartme t building changed a bit here and there. moments at which it seemed like 5a was furnished vs not. the fact that the real cilprit was SO obvious and it took the main character forever to add up the clues. the fact that in a major upscale apartment building there were multiple security violations that went seemingly unquestioned. what ex tennant that qas evictwd could get in through the side door? and only being able to get the locks changed after two weeks? its NY City. there are several dozen locksmiths at least. Exwisr could just saunter into new buildimg? could have been a good plot point if someone on the security staff was a sucker for sweet talking sexy women but what woman would let her ex linger in the apartment and nap when she was expecti g time with her new flame?maybe that just me but those slight flaws just didtracted me from what qas such a fun and playful love story. i would have like to have seen more of the drama between the ex wife, a little more tension between the protagonists before the inevitable. so good story, good read. could have been executed more cleanly.the

Respectable and unexpected.

That first book got kinda real towards the second half, it was unexpected, but very appreciated. It had some strong feelings in certain scenes. Relatable, yet unique.

The second is erotic and surprisingly soft, and the narrator for this story was very in character.

Third is short and to the point.

With each new story I realize just how tame the first one was.

That last one is a mood.

A couple of really good stories.

the first story is good, The Woman Upstairs. then the next 3 are sex, sex, and boring, then the last story She is good. The first story is worth the listen. All the narration is good.

An Interesting Mix

A hard audio book to review. The Woman Upstairs, I loved. All but one short story I liked but I can’t say the story was bad. It was the Aussie narrator that I just couldn’t come to grips with at all. Overall I would give it a 4.5. It was just that one story. But I’m sure others might enjoy it.
