Great story with twists and turns

The virtual story teller. It would have been better with a live person narrating the story for better voice inflection

Not a great storyline.

It was borrowing right from the start. I tried to give it a fair go but it didn’t get any better. I struggled with the generated voice as well.

Endless

Way too long and drawn out. Kind of sappy. Nothing out of the ordinary. But it was free.

Good Story - Don't like AI Reader

First book from this author and I enjoyed the story and characters. The pace was good and kept me listening. The only complaint is the clunky AI reader. The voice was emotionless during conflicts and life or death situations. A shout or yell was deadpan and it would take a moment to understand the emotion of the character.

Would listen to more books by this author.

Not really interested in listening to another AI reader drone through the story.

The narrator

The story was good and entertaining, although the characters and connections were a little confusing. But the auto-generated voice was extremely disturbing and distracting. I’ll be hard pressed to choose another book with that feature.

a mediocre read. the AI is one voice for multiple characters, and is interesting as being read a term paper.

Deliver us from Virtual Voice narration

I normally enjoy Christopher Greyson books, and maybe I would have liked this better if a real person with personality and the ability to use different voices and actual emotion had narrated the book. As it was, 1.3 speed wasn't nearly fast enough, and even then I skipped several chapters just to get to the end.
Was the storyline any good? I don't know. The monotone narration left me uninvolved and uninterested.

The story was interesting

Virtual narration is ruining the listening experience. It is just not acceptable. Story was good but lost so much in narration. I will no longer listen to books narrated in this fashion.

Ugh. AI narrator.

I really disliked that it was narrated by AI. “She” didn’t emphasize the right words to convey a sentence’s meaning. Also, sometimes she said the wrong word, like “quest” instead of “guest”. I couldn’t force myself to keep listening and quit with over 4 hours to go.
