Interesting but not a masterpiece.

Kept my interest. Not really about a psychiatric ward. But lost its way mid-novel. If it's on sale, I'd get it. But not for a full credit.

Loved it!

I loved the characters, the narration and the story. Lots of action and twist and turns. A+

I’ll sum it up— I bought the book on Wednesday and finished it Thursday!! Just when you are certain you know the bad people…you don’t. Just when you think you know the motivation for action….you don’t!! Grrrrrreat listen!

Love the take on twins

I love every book by Sarah and this book is no different. I was listening every free moment I had.

Very Disappointing

I had such high hopes for this book, but was sorely disappointed. It was corny, and the narration sounded ridiculous at times.

Just not a fan of the story!

I used one of my credits on this, and I was a little disappointed. I felt that the story was a little convoluted, and some of the twists involved characters that I had never even thought of, so why do that to the reader?

Twisted ending

This was a great listen. The story kept you second guessing everything. Georgia’s ability to protect herself while in the locked ward is truly daunting. Mandy’s desire for the truth keeps this story moving.

Soooo good

Sarah Pekkanen has become one of my favorite psychological thriller writers. In LOCKED WARD she delves into the lives of adopted twin sisters, separated at birth. Georgia is on a psychiatric ward, accused of killing her adoptive parents biological daughter. Amanda the bar she inherited from her parents.

Georgia gets word to Mandy asking for help. Amanda, justifiably leery doesn’t know she’s a twin. Can she trust Georgia, who was caught with the bloody murder weapon? Is Georgia faking insanity? Is Amanda at risk?

I guessed a few of the twists, but not the whodunnit and why part.

I can’t wait to see what Pekkanen writes next.

Nice Twists

I usually read at “face value.” Not thinking about potential plot twists etc. and, as a result, was pleasantly surprised!

The Locked Ward is just the beginning...

I always look forward to a Sarah Pekkanen book, and this one was well worth the wait! 32-year-old twins, Amanda and Georgia, were separated at birth and have no knowledge of the other. However, Georgia finds out about Amanda, but before she can make a connection, she's thrown in jail for murdering her other sister. Only Georgia claims she didn't do it and asks Amanda to help her. However, let everyone else tell it, Georgia was jealous of and hated her sister, so she undoubtedly killed her younger sister. The twists and secrets that surface while Amanda searches for answers will have you blocking out everything and everyone until the book's end.
