Publisher's Summary

As seen on The Today Show!

The new, exhilarating New York Times best-selling romance from the author of The Proposal, a Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club pick!

Maddie and Theo have two things in common:

  1. Alexa is their best friend
  2. They hate each other

After an "oops, we made a mistake" night together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa's wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they're comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won't fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn't looking, agreeing they would end it once the wedding is over. When it’s suddenly pushed up and they only have a few months left of secret rendezvouses, they find themselves regretting that the end is near. Two people this different can’t possibly have a connection other than the purely physical, right?

But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don't fall in love.

If you read the summary, you read the book.

Maybe I should have read the previous books in the series? Or maybe reading it instead of listening to it being read would help? I'm not quite sure. This book just isn't doing much for me.

I was hoping to have some interest at least at the midpoint, but no, every chapter is basically the same. If you read the summary, you read the book. Two people who didn't like each other, got drunk & had sex. They're both single but don't want their mutual friend to find out, never really giving a good reason why. So, they pretend not to like each other in public but tear each other's clothes off in private. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

This Book Was Boring

To me the story would have been better with better narration. Also, there was just too much unnecessary information provided, which stretched this book out too long...Just Boring

Another One... Jasmine Guillory is a genius!

Such an amazing story! The 3rd in a series of amazing stories about Black women stumbling into love and all that entails! The characters are real and relatable and you will find yourself wondering what’s next for them! I can’t wait to read the next one! And the narration is amazing!

I enjoyed it.<br />

Nice continuation with these characters. Leaned a little too much on Theo"s job worries but it was a great respite from Covid overload.

Too much pizza.

I really love this author and her story line is amazing. I love how her books are connected, however, I have never heard so much about damn pizza. Do they eat anything else? It was a great book, but obviously the pizza got under my skin.

So disappointing

I’ve liked other books by Jasmine Guillory but this one was so bad... I almost didn’t even finish it. The writing was bad and the story really predictable. Super bummed.
