Sassy, Sexy, and Smartly Done

The Black Wife Effect is a quick read, interracial romance with good banter, spice on the page, and relatable characters. Bonus, this is the first of an interconnected series! This book is SO entertaining and hits on real-life experiences black women and those in interracial relationships face. Recommend for fans of billionaire romance, strong female leads, and/or romantized books that open the door for conversations about real topics.

My only wish was a different male narrator, but he didn't bug me enough to not listen ;)

That trauma effects everyone in a relationship.

I love it because it is written so you can connect with both story leads as much as they are different. This makes their relationship, or a fake relationship, very believable.

The book was getting so good and then the main character completely ruined it.

She had one job to do..pretend to be his wife and keep her mouth shut but yet she's going to blab that oh we're not really married to Will. Like for real, how dumb can you be? All of a sudden now, she's gonna treat the guy differently because oh no, she found out that his dad embezzled money... bro just because his dad is a bad man doesn't mean that he's like that either. She went along with this plan lnowing what this guy was like, and then oh no surprise pikachu face. I hate books like this where the main character literally loses their common sense. I could not finish it.

Wow! Worth the credit!

I’m new to TL,s books but I loved this one. Narration was great too! Loved it so much bought the next one, then read the 3rd book as I wait for that audio. Fav is the way she shows the resilience of a black woman.
