Easygoing Storyline, Intense Chemistry

This is my typical go-to, easy read novel for romance. I mostly appreciate that the characters didn’t have over-the-top, unrealistic plot twists. I really enjoy listening to both narrators, their voices really fit their characters. I laughed a little at the male narrator because the way he emphasizes words sounds a bit like a 80s private eye detective from Chicago.

Loved This!!!

I love this story, I’m so glad I used my credit on this one. I love love love Lear and grew to love RJ by the end of the book. I can’t wait to listen to Brittany and Wes’ story!

RJ!!!!

RJ was really getting on my nerves by playing with his emotions. So I was on Lear side when he told her off..but glad they pull through.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!

This might just be my favorite Denise Williams book yet!

OMG this book was so freaking great!! Both RJ and Lear had past relationship trauma and were able to overcome it and find love within each other! This story was written so well. I loved the spice level and the humor and banter!

I giggled soooo much while reading this cause this was so freaking romantic. Lear and RJ just had such a fun dynamic and I loved reading about how they slowly opened up and to each other. And their chemistry was off the charts and overall I had such a great time reading this!! Truly Denise Williams's best work in my opinion!

I Really Like this Couple!

The narrators were fantastic! I enjoyed the story and the realistic root of RJ’s problem. Definitely a great listen!

Classic, almost the same as any other

the male voice for RJ was so annoying. slight nasal pinched, I had to fast forward through on some chapters.

A little bit of mean with a hint of sweetness

This book really hit close to home for me. RJ like so many others represented the hurt and fear we have when our pasts were filled with uncertainty and mistrust.

Leare represented those that no matter what cannot change who they really are. He was filled with compassion and love for everyone, but one person made him want to completely change who he was.

In the end, moral of the story is to stay true to yourself. Never let a specific incident or relationship change your outlook on life and love.

Please Full-Cast Re-Record

This is one of those books that might work better with a full cast of narrators either more skilled at pulling off multiple accent tones and inflections accurately or just provide a flat consistent read. The inconsistencies made the listen jarring.

Nice Give and Take

This is a fun story. It is nice to see to the two main characters work through their “junk” and be honest.

Didn't enjoy this one as much as her others

I've read and enjoyed quite a few of Denise Williams' books and definitely recommend her as an author. The narrators did a good job here as well, though I didn't feel the male narrator sounded right for the character, but it didn't affect my opinion. Unfortunately, both characters were wildly unlikable at various points in this book and even their attraction initially wasn't enjoyable for me. I seriously considered returning the book at one point. It got better but I still just couldn't really connect with the characters and like them enough to really care. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I'd even recommend this book.
