I got my first Jasmine Guillory book as a Secret Santa gift 3 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. i have all of the hard copies and all of the Audible books. I love, love, love how she writes such engaging and romantic stories. She's very detailed and her stories take readers on a journey that i personally hate to see come to an end. I loved Ben and Anna's story and was excited we got a little Theo and Mattie thrown in. I can't wait until the next one is released.

I loved this book! The story was amazing and the characters especially Ben were so sweet and real! Definitely worth the listen!

This was a light enjoyable romance. The narrator was terrific. I enjoyed their voice and tone.

the writing was so good that the female of the story really annoyed me. the male did not like conflict so the women pretty much did whatever she wanted and he just dealed with it.

Another Perfect Book From Jasmine Guillory

I've loved all of the books set in this universe, but While We Were Dating might be my favorite.

Guillory embraces classic romance tropes (especially fake dating) and writes genre romance with modern humor and sensibilities. Three dimensional queer characters, non-nuclear families, candid conversations about race, fatphobia, mental health, consent, and so much more.

Without spoilers, this book really shines in the way it talks about healing. As always, Guillory has given us a love interest who centers consent and takes accountability without treating these like remarkable traits. She excels at normalizing accountable, consensual, and respectful relationships without straying from the classic and satisfying genre formulas.

If you've read and liked Guillory's previous books, you'll catch lots of delightful glimpses into the ongoing adventures of characters from earlier books. For new readers, While We Were Dating is a perfect entry point into this universe of characters. No catchup required (but her other books are fabulous and you should read them as well!)
