Loved

I got my first Jasmine Guillory book as a Secret Santa gift 3 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. i have all of the hard copies and all of the Audible books. I love, love, love how she writes such engaging and romantic stories. She's very detailed and her stories take readers on a journey that i personally hate to see come to an end. I loved Ben and Anna's story and was excited we got a little Theo and Mattie thrown in. I can't wait until the next one is released.

Another Perfect Book From Jasmine Guillory

I've loved all of the books set in this universe, but While We Were Dating might be my favorite.

Guillory embraces classic romance tropes (especially fake dating) and writes genre romance with modern humor and sensibilities. Three dimensional queer characters, non-nuclear families, candid conversations about race, fatphobia, mental health, consent, and so much more.

Without spoilers, this book really shines in the way it talks about healing. As always, Guillory has given us a love interest who centers consent and takes accountability without treating these like remarkable traits. She excels at normalizing accountable, consensual, and respectful relationships without straying from the classic and satisfying genre formulas.

If you've read and liked Guillory's previous books, you'll catch lots of delightful glimpses into the ongoing adventures of characters from earlier books. For new readers, While We Were Dating is a perfect entry point into this universe of characters. No catchup required (but her other books are fabulous and you should read them as well!)

Cute Easy Read

I loved everything about this book. I easily followed along in my head abs could visualize the characters.

Quick good iisten

First time with this author and so far so good! Kept it simple and enjoyable…sometimes a little too much detail on every movement and breath so I sped up the narration and better. I will try her other books now 👍

Another Sweet Story

Sometimes on grumpy about love, but Guillory has this sweet way of cutting through and curating the cutest (and hottest) moments. She sprinkles in the real topics but doesn’t let her stories get bogged down in them. If Love was a main character, then I’d say she writes from Love’s point of view.

Effortless “read”

The plot is sweet and predictable. It is a feel-good book! I loved the third person omniscient point of view, would’ve loved to hear more from Ben’s perspective unless that was intentional.
