New York Times and USA TODAY bestseller!

Bestselling and award-winning author Rachel Hauck delivers a tale of faith, redemption, and timeless love involving four brides and the wedding dress that ties them all together. Perfect for fans of The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake and Like Water for Chocolate.

Charlotte owns a chic Birmingham bridal boutique. Dressing brides for their big day is her gift--and her passion. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can't she find the perfect dress--or feel certain she should marry Tim?

Then Charlotte purchases a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new, shimmering with pearls and satin, hand-stitched and timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it?

Charlotte's search for the gown's history--and its new bride--begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress. Emily from 1912. Mary Grace from 1939. Hillary from 1968. Each with something unique to share. For woven within the threads of the beautiful hundred-year-old gown is the truth about Charlotte's heritage, the power of courage and faith, and the beauty of finding true love.

Rachel Hauck sweeps the reader away in this New York Times bestselling tale that combines a wedding dress with a mysterious history, closed-door love stories spanning different time periods, redemption and faith, strong female characters, and interwoven stories.

It's a christian book for the young. Also about faith in God to carry you through difficult situations. Then the magic of a wedding dress very much like the sisterhood of the travelling pants.

Life of faith love & a magic dress

I chose this book because my own wedding dress has been worn 4 times. The book spoke to me. Granted I knew all the people who worn my dress and they loved it as much as I did!
Reading all the reviews people were so upset with the religious aspect, I’m not offended in the least. Religion was big part of the character’s life! I loved the story. It was nice genuine story without hate only love and respect. Maybe this is such a foreign concept for people, there are WHOLESOME PEOPLE OUT THERE!

What a sweet story that stretches across generations. I loved how each time period historical events stayed true to the era and how love is worth fighting for. I didn't mind the religious aspect woven into the story, especially since marriage is a union of 3 - between husband and wife and Christ. I didn't care for the narrator. It was hard to tell when the character was speaking or just thinking.

A love story in any era!
