Publisher's Summary

An inspirational story of two women whose lives have been destroyed by disaster but find healing in a special house.

When Beck Holiday lost her father in the North Tower on 9/11, she also lost her memories of him. Eighteen years later, she’s a tough New York City cop burdened with a damaging secret, suspended for misconduct, and struggling to get her life in order. Meanwhile, a mysterious letter arrives informing her she's inherited a house along Florida’s northern coast, and what she discovers there will change her life forever. Matters of the heart only become more complicated when she runs into handsome Bruno Endicott, a driven sports agent who fondly recalls the connection they shared as teenagers. But Beck doesn’t remember that either.

Decades earlier, widow Everleigh Applegate lives a steady, uneventful life with her widowed mother after a tornado ripped through Waco, Texas, and destroyed her new, young married life. When she runs into old high school friend Don Callahan, she begins to yearn for change. Yet no matter how much she longs to love again, she is hindered by a secret she can never share.

The New York Times best-selling author brings us this sweet romance in which the power of love and the miracle of faith promise hope and healing in the beautiful Victorian known affectionately as the Memory House.

Split-time (contemporary and historical) stand-alone.

Book length: approximately 100,000 words.

Exceptional

Almost as wonderful as the Wedding Chapel. I love this author's work. The two women whose lives and love have been destroyed by disaster. However, they find healing in a special house. In The Memory House the excellent plot gives a glimpse of God's prevenient grace. One of John Wesley’s finest contributions to theology was his understanding of prevenient grace. The grace that “goes before”—that grace which precedes human action and reflects God’s heart for his creation. It testifies to God’s being the initiator of any relationship with him and reveals him as one who pursues us. Thank you, Rachel Hauck

It’s a Godsend

I finally got to read this book during the weeks immediately following my husband’s death from cancer! It was shocking to see the parallels between my thoughts and ideas like that of Everleigh’s! It’s true we are the sum of our life experience that only God can turn it into our good through Christ.

Great story

I loved how the writer went back and forth with the '50s and the '60s and current time to give you the backstory and the current story. It was very intriguing. Loved it

Another winner!

Just finished listening to The Memory House, and it did not disappoint. The trips back and forth in time tying up the loose ends is one of my favorite things.
