The Talentless Prince is a Governor: A Lord LitRPG

Heath Shieldmire, written off as the "Talentless Prince," never thought his life would lead to the frontier of the Empire.

With the Governor System at his command, he's the last chance for Hardhome, a settlement on the brink of collapse. But Heath won’t just cling to survival. He’s determined to turn the wasteland into a thriving town worth defending. Facing scarce resources, relentless monsters, and the political enemies that cast him aside, Heath must show he’s more than a discarded noble, he’s a Lord in his own right.

In this YA-friendly adventure, expect base-building and management elements as Heath rallies settlers, strengthens defenses, and grows both the town and himself. As Hardhome rises, so too does Heath, and so do the threats that seek to tear it all down.

Rated G, this LitRPG is perfect for fans who love strategy, teamwork, and a protagonist striving to prove his worth.

Will Heath earn the trust of his people and shape Hardhome into a home worth fighting for?

Start your adventure today with The Talentless Prince is a Governor: A Lord LitRPG and witness the making of a true Lord.

painfully boring

I thought this was one of those " talentless " but in reality the title tells no lies

Putting your toe into the genre. This is the book for you

This is one of those starter books that you really don't get to see very often. It's like putting your toe into the genre, if this is happening, then this is for you, it has stats, but they choose to more concentrate on the town. When it comes to the stats, this is one of those ones that could be expanded for those who are hardcore. But it's great to see something for people who are just starting out in the genre to get something where they can see the stats, but not be beaten over the head with the stats. This has an amazing premise with all great possibilities. I do hope they make a publisher's pack for this one. Because this is this one when you're sitting by the pool, you just want to listen to the entire series

Folding his hands

I got really excited for this book when it was released. meant to grab a psycical copy, but ended up spending my monthly Audible token on this last month. I got really excited at the length, and it started out fine. But after several hours when the town building aspect really got going I very quickly tired of this story. It is way too long and repetitive. The town comes under constant attack and gets destroyed basically every few days, and every time it needs to be repaired. This happens so many times I really didn't care for this story line at all any more.

The characters are fairly bland and I didn't care for any of them at all.

After the first 10 ish hours I was actively wishing that the story would finish, but it seemed to go on forever. The last three hours I put it on 1.5x speed just to be done with it.

But the worst offender in this entire book is the repetitive use of the same terms. Every time any if the following phrases was used I sighed audibly. Here is the list of the most used phrases:

-The main character eating his unit of food every morning. At least try describing what it is at least once.
-The main character rubbing the back of his neck.
-x Whistled
-Main character "literally had his jaw dropping left and right.
-Main character puffed his cheeks. This one came out of nowhere near the last part of the book and it fels like every three sentences it happened.

But the worst offender by far is characters folding their hands. This happens literally every three sentences and it drove me completely crazy. Basically Writing 101 is never repeat words or phrases too many times. This is just poor editing, this should have been caught in the editing room. Especially with a two writer team. After checking their profile, they seem to have written quite alot of books, and this really disapointed me.

I probably will check out an eventual sequel because the premise is semi interesting, but if I hear about any character folding their hands one more time I'm dropping this.
