Publisher's summary

The groundbreaking audio production of what Los Angeles Times Magazine called “the greatest epic in the history of comic books” continues. Leading perhaps the best cast ever assembled in audio, James McAvoy returns to voice Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, in The Sandman: Act III, the third installment of the New York Times best-selling audio saga. Award-winning audio trailblazer Dirk Maggs adapts the blockbuster DC graphic novel series written by Neil Gaiman (Good Omens) into another fully immersive listening experience, presented for the first time in breathtaking 3D audio.

In Act III, we follow Morpheus on a grand journey to take care of family business. He visits with his son Orpheus (Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page), an act that brings with it profound consequences. Accompanied by Delirium (Kristen Schaal, Bob’s Burgers), he tracks down their estranged brother, Destruction (David Harewood, Supergirl), the only member of the Endless ever to abandon their post. And at an inn at the intersection of all worlds, a group of travelers are forced together by a storm that threatens to destroy reality itself, with grave repercussions for Morpheus and the rest of the Endless.

All the original cast returns, including Kat Dennings as Death, Aidan Turner as Cluracan, and Neil Gaiman himself as The Narrator, joined by Harewood and other new cast members Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), KJ Apa (Riverdale), Shruti Haasan (Race Gurram), and more.

It’s time to close your eyes and listen. Once again.

Please note: This content is not for kids. It is for mature audiences only. Just like the original graphic novels, this audio adaptation contains explicit language and graphic violence, as well as strong sexual content and themes. Discretion is advised.

I keep thinking get on with it

I've experienced the other two performances of the sandman. this one while have exemplary production and mostly amazing voice work lacks a solid story. It's as if a few dozen short stories were put in a blender and mixed.

while worth listening to, I keep waiting a more focused storyline. the last part was more interesting... giving mini stories that could have easily been produced into full blown ones.
overall I'm left unsatisfied and greatly annoyed that this unbelievable and amazing professional crew didn't do a different and more deserving story. Imagine if they did Dune, The Hobbit or The Wheel of Time....my God that would be Oscar or whatever worth....sigh

Delirium

Delirium was always my favorite of the endless. Kristen Schall does a fantastic job voicing the character. I've been waiting in this series for them to get to some stories with Delirium. I enjoyed everything throughly. This has been a great audiobook series so far with excellent casting all the way around.

Another great act

The Sandman is one of my top 3 favorite comics and this season or act featurez my favorite story arc of the series Brief Lives. this is the one I was most looking forward to listening to. this is without a doubt the best audio drama I have ever listened to on audible, certainly the one with the some of the biggest amount of great actors. i see the same complaints that the first two acts that had is that half the time Moroheus isn't the focus of the chapters, well yo anyone who still doesn't know that's exactly how the comics are. since it's looking less and less like we will get a season 2 of the show I'm so happy that we will at least get to finish the comicsin this medium with the 4th and final act.

Can they get any better?

I cannot say enough good things about this series! Neil Gaiman’s voice is just icing on a delicious cake of a set of stories. I also love love love Wil Wheaton and it was an absolute pleasure getting to listen to him in this series. Listen! You won’t regret it.

I am Satiated!

Phenomenal! Experiential! I am Satiated, ingratiated, and grieving only for the fact that I am at the end of this; I will never again be able to listen for the first time. All the hallmarks of a good thing. Thank you Neil Gaiman (I do not collect the signatures of anyone famous (or otherwise), but for inspiration, I do still look at the journal you signed, and inscribed there, "sweet dreams." Indeed.)!
