Resumen del Editor

Brought to you by Its Majesty’s Government. Greatest Britain: For a Global Universe.

Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive.

But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

So begins an investigation that will take him across the Discovered Universe, into the path of the mysterious Forever Man, and eventually to answers about his past. Along the way, he will have to contend with aliens, robots, monsters, bureaucrats and, perhaps most deadly of all, his own numerous flaws.

Written and narrated by BAFTA award winner Daniel Rigby (Eric and Ernie, Flowers, Black Mirror), not since The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have listeners been offered such a joyful, anarchic and insightful universe.

Quirky

A quirky, imaginative romp … lots of action of witty and broad humor as well.

Daniel Rigby, both author and narrator, has created a fascinating world with strong characters. While there is much to offer in this narrative there are deep questions that he raises about humanity. Loved this book!

uh..wow

after rereading, I'll double down on my first impressions that this is an excellent book. the kind of book that reminds you why you read, and remind you why the others are so disappointing.

what a roller coaster ride! thrills and chills included. surrealistic without losing the plot. there are recognizable tropes but this book is an excellent example of how a good author can take a familiar trope and hang a whole new universe on that recognizable skeleton. so the reader can feel the shape is familiar territory but enjoy a rich new landscape.

lots of times authors invent new worlds with crazy creatures that just seem like an exercise in fantasy, impressing the reader but ultimately unsatisfying.

Isaac Steele is a master class in creating useful, integral to the plot, craziness. leaving the reader hoping that there is more to follow.

not saying there is a cliffhanger, just open ended enough to continue on.

A fun ride

Fun, although not my favorite style for science fiction, the story was fast paced and original. The authors unique imagination very evident.

Amazing!

I have not enjoyed an audio book like I enjoyed this one in quite some time. It was so funny and action packed from the start. Daniel Rigsby is sooo talented I will definitely listen to the next one, I can't wait!

Modern Sci-Fi Noir

Daniel Rigby makes this story with his range and inflection: so much fun!

Is it possible to mix 1984 and Idiocracy into a noir mystery? Bang-bangs, no-nos, yum-yums, and the ability to make your eye big… actually, as I write this, perhaps this story was fun because Rigby gathered all the loose bits and bobs floating around in the mire of sarcasm that is my mind, and crafted it into a linear form resembling a story!

Just Great Fun!

I really enjoyed this, and I await another installment with enthusiasm. Rigby has done an excellent job here. Highly recommended. If there's a second tale I'll happily spend a credit on it - this is one of the best free Audible Originals I've encountered. Good work!

Amazing…original, fun… and smart!

I am super picky when it comes to sci-fy with humor….so many of the same themes over and over…
This one is thoughtful, witty, and really interesting to listen to.
This is one of the FEW cases of author narration that is SOLID. He did it so well…. A standard read wouldn’t have worked as well here. This book has production, and better reading than many respected narrators out there.

A great romp - Douglas Adams meets Charles Stross

A great romp - Douglas Adams meets Charles Stross (or maybe Monte Python -- there were some Brazil moments here ;^)

And the fine performance was by the author himself, something that doesn't always work.

Robots, cops, robot cops. Hard core detective fiction.

"You shouldn't talk to him that way, even if he is a robot".
