The reader

The French accent of the reader was awful! Did not like how it was read. The story, however, was good.

Mysterious Affair at Styles, et al

The story is great, as one expect's from Ms. Christie's mystieries. I enjoyed the book in printed form more than this reading.
Narrator is dull. Voice characterization amateurish, and detracts from story-telling.

Queen of Murder Mysteries

The gift of an author highly able to take us 0n the trains to murder. I slipped into London, Middle East, and beautiful spun stories. I recommend if you an older reader, slip into mysteries of a past era of elegance and proper English genteel characters.

Love Agatha Christie

Accents were a little off sometimes, but overall really enjoyable overall. Recommend for anyone who enjoys Poirot.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles (Hercule Poirot, #1) by Agatha Christie 5/5 audiobook 5 hours and 4 minutes.

This is Agatha Christie's first book, our first opportunity to meet Hercule Poirot, and Hastings. Setting is an English manor during WWI. The other characters are well written. The mystery was enjoyable. The ending took me by surprise. The pace is great, and it's a quick listen as it's only 5 hours.

I re-listened to this and enjoyed it more than I did the first time thru. The only complaint is the narriation isn't the best.

Big Mistake

Yes, these were rhe two earliest Poirot novels, but the age shows and not in a good way. Add to that, the story lines were overly complex with tons of suspects. The biggest concern was with the narration. His attempt at a French accent was awkward and offputting. This issue was made many times worse in the second novel, Murder on the Links, where almost everyone is a Francophone. I gave up trying to find enjoyment in this offering. Try something else.

Narrative is bad

Sounds like children doing a backyard play. I have no idea what the plots were.
