Publisher's Summary

The STAR interview method is used by millions of people all around the world to answer interview questions and tell stories. Fortune 500 companies (Amazon included) recommend using the STAR method to answer behavioral questions. Whether you’re just starting your job search, already interviewing with a company, or looking for a different way to stand out - there are a dozen different ways you can incorporate the technique into your life. But it’s not just about interviewing. Any time you present yourself verbally or in written format, doing it in a narrative/story format will open people's ears. So if any (or all) of these apply to you, then you can use STAR to help you with all the following:

  • Looking for a job
  • Interview preparation for a full time or part time job
  • Getting yourself noticed as a freelancer
  • Finding consulting gigs
  • Trying to get an internal transfer
  • Writing a badass LinkedIn profile
  • Making a great blog, portfolio, or content to present yourself
  • Networking

I’ve helped thousands of people in their job searches and hundreds of (small and large) companies find the right people for their teams. The STAR method has remained a consistent and useful technique throughout.

In a day and age when we are all trying to be heard, it is more relevant today than ever before.

Very good Interview Prep Material

I am looking for a job in Industrial Engineering, and I do not have much interview experience because I landed the previous jobs without much pain. However, this time, I am aiming for some specific jobs and I want to be able to present myself better in the interview. As a Job seeker, I should prepare in advance by practicing to increase the probability of my consideration. So, I went online and looked for books that would help me prepare for the STAR interview. I found this audio book my Misha Yurchenko on Audible and it provided me with detailed information on how to answer each section of the STAR. The book is provided with additional resources and templates that helped me a great deal. I haven't taken the interviews yet, but I will go back here and complete the 'impact' part of my story. Glad I was able to write this review in STAR format! Thank you, Misha.

good overview but not for aws

was a good overview but examples mostly for just out of college. found the scenarios unrealistic for aws interview in high tech. worth the download but seemed more for amazon business divisions.

Great Story Telling!

Very well explained and easy to understand. I liked the structured approach in explaining the STAR technique.
