Publisher's summary

USA Today best-selling author Leslie Pike brings you a standalone romance that’s heart-warming, steamy, and laugh-out-loud funny.

Falling out of a tree at the feet of a naked woman is not Nobel Lyon’s usual MO. He’s more the invisible man type. A name given to him in childhood. The observer. The logical thinker. A man who loves solitude. But the sexy mountain woman fishing on his property changed everything.

There are people who live every moment to the fullest and Dove Solomon is one of them. She can hook a line, gut a fish, and pitch a tent. She also sings like a fallen angel. The handsome man that just dropped into her life intrigues her in a way no one else has. He’s an introvert, she’s an extrovert. But there’s no denying how drawn they are to each other. Two people destined by fate to be together, no matter how different they are. The one thing they can agree on? Opposites attract.

sweet and romantic

I loved this story. They met unusually but were ment to be. I couldn't get enough. They are sweet, romantic and hot together. I haven't read book 1, but it'll be my next one. The narrators were fantastic. They really brought the book to life.

Nobel & Dove

Nobel is older and likes his solitude. Dove is singer in a band trying to make it big. They must decide if their differences are too insurmountable. Nobel has the most to lose and is expected by everyone to be the one to change. Both narrators were good.

A sweet, insta-love, opposites attract romance

The River in Spring is a sweet, insta-love, opposites attract romance. It is a steamy and heartfelt story about two unlikely souls matching and falling in love.

Dove is a gorgeous creative soul. She is feisty, strong and confident. After having to put her music career on hold she is finally getting a second chance and the break she’s been waiting for.

Nobel and Dove hit it off instantly. It is quite the meet cute story albeit slightly unusual and a little unlikely. Nobel is quiet and introverted. He is stubborn, and content to live life without any attachments (except his family). Until he meets Dove. They quickly fall for one another and become wrapped up in each other’s lives. Until the moment Dove has been waiting for and finally gets her big break in music. Although an extremely happy time for Dove, Nobel struggles with what this means for their future.

As much as I enjoyed the story, I struggled with Nobel’s attitude towards Dove and her career aspirations. He was self sabotaging when it came to his own happiness and treated Dove unfairly when it came to supporting her. In the end, Dove forgave Nobel for his faults, although for my tastes a little too quickly. I would have liked to have seen a little bit of grovelling.

Despite finding the story lacking, I adored the narration done by Lance Greenfield and Stella Bloom. Their voices paired together worked so well. They each deliver a powerful, emotional performance and brought these characters to life beautifully.

While this wasn’t my favourite in the series, I’m fully invested in the Lyon family and am looking forward to Van’s story next in The Sky In Summer.

An good story with wonderful supporting characters

I struggled with this one a bit. For the simple reason Noble (awesome name!) is a professed nerd and introvert. But as soon as he sees Dove he starts talking about his private parts and sex. It seems to become his sole focus. He even speaks out loud about it…to HER on their first date. That all just seemed weird. It doesn't seem to fit his profile.

What I do like is the angst between Noble and one of Dove’s band members. As well as his family! They are really just adorable and I could hang with them all day. I want to mention a few things I lived—the Happy Birthday band and the sayings on the cakes. Those made me smile!

Overall its an okay story. Not a lot of movement with the characters until later. They both have cool jobs and I really loved the supporting characters. I did listen to this on audio. Stella Bloom and Lance Greenfield are both narrators I have listened to frequently and they do well.

love it

Nobel didn't realize that when he fell out of tree, watching a beautiful woman skinny dip, his whole world would change.
Nobel was a loner, intovert, liked his life calm. All he had room for is His love for family and his elderly dog Maudie.
Dove is fiesty, strong-willed. Being raised by her hippy grandparents, she lived a carefree lifestyle.
This story is about accepting change, Dove teaches Noble to love, take life as it comes, and get out of his comfort zone.
This story is fun, delightfully entertaining with moments of fun, heartache, uncertainty, love and steamy sex.
Leslie Pike has written a beautiful love story. I love how the relationship developed between them, from peeping tom, to friend to lovers.
Stella Bloom, Lance Greenfield narration is very good. I enjoyed listening to this story. I was gifted this story and offered my honest review.

Sweet and funny!

This one was a funny, sweet and steamy story. Nobel and Dove story. This an older man/ younger woman. This starts with Nobel being caught peeping on Dove when he ends up falling out of the tree he climbed with the binoculars. Nobel is an established lawyer and he ends up falling for an up and coming singer. Dove had a chance once to become noticed but gave it up when her Grandfather got sick and needed to be taken care of, what happens when you get a second chance but it might compromise your relationship.
I enjoyed listening to this story. The only thing I would say and this is because some of the audio I started with when it's told by two narrators the female took over the female roles and the males would do the male role. In this book each narrator takes a chapter and the characters are given a different voice.

This is the third book in the Lyon Family Series. The story is beautifully written, sweet and heartwarming. Nobel and Dove are such wonderful characters. They are opposites attract, but they definitely complement each other. Stella Bloom and Lance Greenfield did a great job with the narration.

Sweet and Steamy Romance!

I really enjoyed this fun, sweet and steamy love story! Nobel and Dove have a hilarious meet cute and these opposites have a fiery attraction right from the start. Nobel is a successful attorney who loves his quiet life. Dove is a young, spirited singer in an up and coming band. She loves experiencing life in all it's glory, that includes Nobel. Despite their age difference, Dove and Nobel have fun together and their chemistry is off the charts. But what happens when Dove and her band get an offer they can't refuse? Will Dove and Nobel be able to find a compromise, or will their differences be too hard to over come, breaking both their hearts? I loved this fun and heartwarming romance. Dove, Nobel, and their family and friends are fun, quirky, loving and supportive.
I always enjoy listening to Stella Bloom, and Lance Greenfield's narration. They did an amazing job bringing this heartwarming and sizzling story to life, immersing me in their world, and making this a captivating listen.

Sweet and sexy story!

***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****

The River in Spring by Leslie Pike is a story that plays with your heart strings. Dove and Nobel have finally found love. They found everything they wanted with the other. How can you love to fiercely and both want two different things? Dove’s been working hard to get her music really heard and now she’s on the cusp of being found. But Nashville is far from Montana. Can they make it work? Can they learn to love enough and be together?

The narration by Lance Greenfield and Stella Bloom was done great. Greenfield plays Nobel’s character flawlessly. You can feel his struggle and the pain of his choices. Stella Bloom is an amazing Dove. Dove is such a free spirit. She’s full of fun and life, and love. You can feel her expose her love and show Nobel her bare heart. I just loved these two together. The emotions just pulsed from this story.
