Publisher's Summary

This tight end is at the top of his game.

He's good with his hands, even better with his sexy mouth, and the best at making me forget my own name. His--ahem--stats are perfect.

But I can't fall for him. He might be everything I want, all rolled into a glorious package of gridiron god, but there's one teeny-tiny problem. The vile, loathsome team I've spent my entire life hating--my beloved school's arch-rival?

This guy is their star player.

The Heart Wants What It Wants

I absolutely LOVED this story! I am a huge sports romance lover and this NA football romance hit the spot! I both listened and read this one, but I enjoyed the narration so much that I often went back to chapters I read just so I could listen to it as well.

This book was so playful and hilarious! I could completely relate to the horror that Kayla experienced upon finding out the sexy stranger she was falling for attended and played for her school's rival. Anyone who is a die hard fan can understand the conflict and confusion poor Kayla was faced with, especially given how she came into this world (what a prologue!) LOL I think my enjoyment of the story mainly revolves around my own unwavering love for my alma mater (GO BRUINS!) and the deep loathing I have for our cross town rivals (boo! hiss!). Listeners/readers who aren't quite as "enthusiastic" fans might not find Kayla's reactions quite as endearing as I did.

Carson Beck is a new narrator to me, but I thought his narration as Jay was fantastic! He embodied the confident and sexy tight end, but also gave him just the right amount of sweetness and vulnerability. Stephanie Rose was also amazing, delivering Kayla's sass and snark perfectly! I loved all of Kayla's jabs at Michigan and how despite her love for Ohio State, she tried so hard to be supportive of Jay (in her own way). Each of them made some mistakes along the way, but it was understandable given their ages and the pressures they both were facing. It made Kayla and Jay's struggles so much more realistic to me. The build up and chemistry between them was amazing and I could not have been happier with how everything came together in the end. Definitely recommend this one!

Loved this story so hard!!

There aren’t enough words in the world to explain or describe how much I loved this story. Nikki Sloane did such an awesome job with this one. I originally picked up this book because of my love for football and sports romances. I was not prepared for how much I would fall in love with these characters and this story line. I had to know what happened next. The characters were witty, funny and strong. I loved that beneath their strength there was vulnerability.

Jay was the perfect match for Kayla’s brand of crazy. He knew how to handle, Kayla. He was hot and swoon worthy in every way. I loved Kayla and her spit fire attitude.

This was a refreshing read that had me laughing out loud and cheering loudly for these two. Perfect story. Perfectly performed by Stephanie and Carson.

Sexy, Fun, College Rom Com. Perfect Holiday Read

What makes a good story? THIS. Because most people who attended any school understands the idea of The Rivalry. And Kayla was deep into her distaste of Michigan's football team and everything they stood for, except Jay.

I've listened to four sport romance books this year, and this one easily makes me swoon. Not only was I excited about the build up of the relationship between Jay and Kayla, but I loved their interaction, and the banter keeping things fresh and provided a reminder of my college days.

Favorite scene has to do with the "fakegasm". That's all I'm gonna say, oh and a real man knows when it's fake. Take a note from Jay people lol.

Stephanie Rose's performance of Kayla is believable. She captured the heart and soul of Kayla and has the voice, tone and pacing that went well with the age of the character. Wonderful job.

Carson is Jay. I will also hear him as Jay. He, being in similar age to Jay knew exactly how to portray this Midwestern, guy next door, heart throb. I love everything he did with Jay's tone. Again, great pacing that came across very natural in both storytelling and the dialogue.

The Rivalry is a feel-good new adult romantic comedy, that takes you back to the good old days of enjoying life, having a good time and figuring out what or who is important. And...of course, Nikki Sloane brought the heat that definitely kept me warm at night!

Great story!

I don't typically go for sports romances, but I've read Nikki Sloane before and loved her, so I took chance. I, once again, enjoyed her writing, and the narrators were great! Will definitely recommend to friends.

Cute college romance

I thought this was a good listen. The narrators were good and the story line was engaging. I enjoyed the consistency of the characters and the overall development of the story. The hero and heroin were in deed rivals and it was good to see how determined the hero was to get the heroin to move pass the rival. It was a little predictable but overall, this is a cute story to keep you company if you looking for something light and simple to listed to.

O-H!

I absolutely loved this story! Being a crazy Ohio State Buckeyes fan myself I enjoyed and related with Kayla and her family. But I loved Jay so much! Nikki Sloane is a genius and I hated that the story had to end...lol. Then add the fantastic narration by Stephanie Rose and and Carson Beck, who is new to me and I will now need to listen to everything he has ever done! So so good. This will definitely be a re-listen in the near future.

okay

I thought this book was okay for me it was very predictable as I would be a lot funnier for whatever reason the girl narrator boys annoy me a really did sound like an annoying cheerleader. I did enjoy the narrator male voice I thought he did a great job.
this book is basically about two characters who go to two different schools who are rivals and she needs to overcome that it's just a game. and they secretly start dating each other. Ira both of them have a very busy schedule trying to live up to the college life. there's not really a lot of drama like you said for me it was okay and I kind of already knew what was going to happen next so I didn't feel like I was surprised.
