Imagine action scenes narrated by a robot...
I really wanted to like this story, however, I think the author moved along too quickly without developing the characters or the conspiracy, and focused more on the play-by-play blows within each fight scene instead of the overall adventure. I felt like I was listening to a narration of a series of fights strung together by some lame banter between the thieves. I think what made the overall experience that much worse for me was the narrator. These action scenes were read with the same enthusiasm as if he were reading pages from a dictionary. ...Bueller?...Bueller? I found myself drifting at times.
I never leave audiobook reviews - in fact, this is my first... I just felt compelled to leave one for the hours I made myself sit through this narration with the hopes it would get better.

Humph
I noticed I had bought this book a while ago, but couldn’t remember why I never finished it. Going back through it I remember why. What a bland story. The constant thing of these people picking on each other distracts from the plot that is rather weak to begin with. To make it worse is the near monotone reading of the story had me realizing that at times I had mentally wondered off.

I struggled with this bok, and thank God it was an Audible I could just let turn into background noise. Slow predictable start, funny at times (mostly the part where she 'kills' the guard) and an ending you just know turns into more of these books.

Poor choice of narrator
This is a book by an English author, the least the narrator could have done was to learn the correct pronunciation of words and places, especially as two of the settings were in England itself. I am a big fan of this author and have read all of his books. I am also a big fan of audible but their choices, when it comes to appropriate narrators, are often very poor. I will not purchase the audible version of The Atlantis Cipher and am seriously considering sending this one back.

Great story, mediocre narrator
I enjoyed the story and the characters but it was simply too distracting when the narrative referred to a number of characters as being British but the narrator had a strong American accent when playing them. Another distracting annoyance was the mispronunciation of very easy and simple place names.

Macho banter, not funny, and implausible story
The narrator needs to work on his pronunciation of certain words as they were giggle-worthy. The story had me asking “why?!” Many times. Much of it was an excuse for violence rather than presenting a plausible solution. If you want a good treasure hunt story read Dan Brown. Won’t be reading/listening-to any more of his books.
