Publisher's summary

How do you measure one life against another? In The Realm, there's an unseen consequence for every life taken.

As Azure and the gang complete quests to obtain the Life Stone, they learn many new lessons about the history and mechanics of The Realm. Danger lurks around every corner, and it's not always in the form of monsters.

Mysteries deepen and relationships are altered as Azure and his companions are sent on a quest to broker peace between a businessman and a village on the brink of war. Some injuries are deeper than flesh, and warnings of the future threaten to split Azure's party apart.

death by snu snu

I think the headline says it all. It's where my mind keeps going with book 8. I think its where the author's mind was going to.

Uden Progression

Story is getting less about the MC. He is now just a bodyguard for Jin. Story has rape so that was disheartening. Jin is now bossy and Uden almost dies again.

Hated the final quest

But the rest of the story leading up to it was entertaining enough that I’ll continue the series. I just hope the author chills out with all the rape-y storylines… it’s just uncomfortable.

Story is ok

I really hate the continuous “you’re just a slave to Jin” idea. Main character isn’t the main character anymore he’s a willing slave to Jin. Almost like he’s being mind controlled. And that’s before it would make sense for him to be under some kind of control. It really just leaves a bad taste in my mouth since we know Azures the main guy, but with Jin treating Azure as his personal tool it just feels like the books going to have another “start from nothing” section where we have to put up with Azure having used all his goodies and sold all his stuff so Jin doesn’t have to talk to a merchant.
