Ryan "Quicksave" Romano is an eccentric adventurer with a strange power: he can create a save-point in time and redo his life whenever he dies.
Arriving in New Rome, the glitzy capital of sin of a rebuilding Europe, he finds the city torn between mega-corporations, sponsored heroes, super-powered criminals, and true monsters. It's a time of chaos, where potions can grant the power to rule the world and dangers lurk everywhere.
Ryan sees many different routes, and from Hero to Villain, he has to try them all. Only then will he achieve his perfect ending...no matter how many loops it takes.

So I bought Immune and Astrophysics For People in a Hurry and the last one was this book.
I read the synopsis, found it interesting and bought it. Listened to it and within the first few minutes I was hooked and I was kept hooked till the very end. So much so that I immediately pre-ordered the 2nd volume and then after listening to that one was left waiting for the 3rd while I replayed these 2 on my drive to/from work.
I can say without a shred of a doubt that this single book got me into Audible, without this book I would only have 3 books in my app just as to not waste the credits.
I love Ryan and the narrator that brings his character to life. I love his wit, his humor and all the nonsensical things he does and says, which he is allowed to do because he's immortal...oh but don't tell anyone that's a spoiler. The many references he makes to video games, anime, manga, pop culture, movies and books is amazing even if I don't get a lot of them.
All the characters are great, you learn more about the world as you slowly scratch the surface until you get into the deep end of the plot.
The loneliness of time travel can break a person and he is definitely damaged. One of the few books that got me a little emotional, the other being "He Who Fights With Monsters" that also has a witty character that others find insufferable but can't help to like.
Anyways that's besides the point, I do not review books often and my sentence structure seems more like rambling because that is what this is. So in simple terms here it is...I LOVE this book, I LOVE Ryan Romano as a character, I love most characters even the bad guys but that all comes back to their interaction with Ryan. I love the narrator as well, didn't believe I could find a man voicing a female to sound sexy and attractive but I was so hooked into the book that I didn't notice. Heck there is this sadistic POS bad guy that is irredeemable but I love it when he says "Little Cezar"
Love this book, the humor is not fart jokes but it's not sophisticated either, somewhere in between so if you don't like humor that makes fun of other peoples looks then this book is not for you or you're old or "too mature" for these kinds of jokes.
Everyone else who would like to hear about a post apocalyptic world with superpowers and hero/villain nicknames then this book is something you will enjoy.
