Story
Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

So when a would-be thief turned unwilling minion tells him about "classes", "levels", and "quests", Vainqueur wonders if maybe, just maybe, he should consider a career change. Arriving in New Rome, the glitzy capital of sin of a rebuilding Europe, he finds the city torn between mega-corporations, sponsored heroes, super-powered criminals, and true monsters. It's a time of chaos, where potions can grant the power to rule the world and dangers lurk everywhere.
Ryan sees many different routes, and from Hero to Villain, he has to try them all. Only then will he achieve his perfect ending...no matter how many loops it takes.

Refreshingly different
I love the power/abilities ...I love the action sequences ...I love the humor ...also, I love that it is not based around the US, cuz important things can happen in other places too.
The writing is dope, there are gaming elements ...but only cuz the MC chooses to view things that way. This is not a typical level up get stronger type story. The core concepts of this story allow really unique perspectives to develop ...and that in turn makes for some great world building. The relationships between characters are complex and constantly shifting ...the coolest moments in the story aren't the result of flashy powers ...it's cleverness, subtlety, and mind games that make the story shine
It's still in the same neighborhood as litrpg stories, but it focuses on different things.
I really enjoyed it, and I highly recommend!!!

"I'm immortal... but don't tell anybody"
I'm very pleased to see another fan favorite novel of a RoyalRoad novelist debuting in audiobooks.
This novel has a very funny MC who's over the top commitment to bringing you your mail will leave millions of damages in his wake.
In a world where you're "immortal" and no one remembers you most of the time, you find yourself living for self made goals "quests" and the world is your RPG.
Mr Summerer has done a fantastic job in bringing a voice to our MC. He hasn't failed to capture his wit.

Almost didn’t buy, but glad I did.
Having read some of the negativity reviews I almost didn’t buy it, but now I have another series to earmark a credit for.
Good world building and character development without losing interest in exploring powers. I was originally worried that Ryan/Quick Save would be a jerk or tiresome, instead he became more interesting.

one of the best narrations plus an incredible book
this is one of the best stories I've read with an extremely complex plot.
most authors going for this fail spectacularly. he did not.
not perfect, sometimes annoying but so good when it comes to making it all fit and creating believable characters you care about -- even bad guys.
can't recommend it more even though a few ideas and opinions bothered me. but just so well executed and so many great parts and ideas. and the believability... the powers....
nothing in comics or TV or cinema has ever done even 10% of what the author achieved here.
it all pales like a cheap knockoff product.

Right Up My Alley
When I first saw the description, even before a voice sample was available, I knew I was going to love this.
Safe to say I was not disappointed.
The protagonist is a bit of an oddball but that makes him all the more enjoyable to follow along with. As a pun enthousiast I was thrilled with the good humour he sprinkles into the tale.
The story felt to me like a slowly unfolding flower, spreading revealing more about the world and its history. Quite a joy to see unfurl such an interesting world.
The narration was good, with some well placed character voices.
A very fun and upbeat and listen overall.

so bad it broke me
there was so much potential within this idea and yet you can see it squandered by mediocre writing.
Don't get me wrong this book is actually much better than most litrpgs
But I was looking for a good story and the concept presented here gave me hope. However it was not a good story and I was utterly disappointed

Not for me
The premise sounds good but is massively flawed. The Courier's main ability renders everything meaningless, moreso since he can just (and does) repeat every action to reach a decision point again.
it's an unfun version of Groundhog Day.
The world building here is odd-but-fine, but there are far too many unkillable characters.
A story with no tension and a lead character who is tiresome with very little wit.
Narration is fine but with no characterisation.

a lot of fun!
there is a glorious balance of black comedy surrealism and angst that I didn't realize I really wanted but mark me satisfied!!
even though it's a time loop narrative, the side characters slowly get fleshed out and I found myself enthusiastically along for the ride, literally just picked this up off of an email reccomendation and am very glad of it!

The main character has a quirky and unashamedly Deadpool-like personality, which aligns well with the author's intentions, as evident in the MC's name (Ryan), mannerisms, and the excellent choice of narrator.
One aspect I particularly liked was that the MC is OP, but he has to grind and it comes at a cost that affects his psyche, making it more consequential. Its also not always immediately obvious to the people around him, again adding another dimension.
It can become a bit intricate with the various character names, factions, and organizations, paying attention to these details enhances the listening experience.
If you appreciate superheroes and Deadpool-style humour combined with time travel, this book delivers a thrilling adventure. Another positive point for is that this story arc concludes within this trilogy, avoiding the trap of becoming an endless web serial turned audiobook.
Overall, The Perfect Run has secured a spot among my favourite reads.

One of the best audio books i've listened to.
I've listened to my fair share of audio books. I can easily say that The Perfect Run is one of the best i've listened to. The narration is amazing and the story itself is fantastic. I cannot recommend this book enough .

Extremely entertaining and suprisingly interesting
For a book about time travel where the main character is practically immortal, this book somehow menages to avoid feeling like it has no stakes which is downright amazing.
The main character is goofy and very likable (for me at least), the supporting cast is fun and the characters have clear roles and personalities.
The lore of the world is handled very well, and not too much is revealed at once so the pacing feels good (there are a couple of flashback chapters, but ALL of them have a clear purpose and are important for the story).
The time travel mechanic is also handled very well, since the main character's life is threatened very rarely because of his power, the stakes are more emotional than physical but they do exist. Its also very fun to see different ways Ryan handles the same situations.
Summerer did a good job as the narrator, so i can't complain there.
Overall, this book was a very nice suprise. I went in not expecting a lot, but it quickly became one of my favourite finds on audible. Certainly not for people who look for huge stakes and people dying left right and center, but for people looking for a fun ride and an entertaining story, this is a must try.
Get it, you won't regret it.

Made me Think of Edge of tomorrow the movie
Really fun book, I saw a comparison of its tone to "Everybody loves large chests" which i really enjoyed. It has darker elements like that but not as hard-core.
The story is much easier to follow than I thought it would be and the narrator really nailed the character.
I'll definitely be getting 2 when it's out.

Deep dive on humanity, disguised as a action adven
This book gives both fun and a deep look on what it is to be alive and human
What drives us forwards to survive day to day when its not always the easiest option to do so
It contains heavy theams of sucide depression and yet is a rather upliftign piece that will make you smile

A must listen - get this now!
It's not often that I gush about a book - Dungeon Crawler Carl, Mother of Learning... my list of truly you-need-to-read-this books are few. And now finally, I've found another book to add to the list.
The Perfect Run isn't... perfect. It ends out of the blue, with no closure. It's a Royal Road book and suffers from the usual problem of something written as a weekly serial now squashed into amazon friendly volumes. The 'real' ending of book one - the bit where the hero achieves the goals he set out at the start of the book, and you feel all warm and fuzzy because of it - actually happens about 5 hours into book 2. But that would have made book 1 super long and book 2 considerably shorter, which I guess is why it didn't happen. As long as you're willing to look past an unsatisfying book 1 ending, or happy to binge the series, everything else is brilliant.
Without giving spoilers, The Perfect Run is set in a future earth where a whole bunch of people were given super powers and the world was trashed in the various hero and villain battles that ensued. Ryan has the power to stop time and also revert to a 'save point,' resetting events if they don't go his way. The book is effectively time loop fiction, done with a whole lot of style and a fair bit of snark. The hero is witty, edgy and fun. The battles are epic and his exploitation of the time loop mechanics smart. If you've read Mother of Learning (which you should, if you haven't) this is a little different. That book is more academic, exploring a slow progression of knowledge and power until the hero is just epically awesome. Here, the MC just does anything he wants - most people think he's a lunatic - because he knows he can just reset if he doesn't like the outcome. He's already epically awesome - he's been looping for years before we even meet him - and there's no slow growth of powers, instead there's a mission he needs to accomplish, and he will - no matter how many loops it takes him.
This is really, really good time loop fiction. Highly recommended.

superficial start turns out to be good writing
the book began as if it was to be another murder hobo story but then the universe expanded and everything just made sense and was justified. really satisfying way to write, buying the sequel immediately!

10/10 Will read again
Absolutely adored this novel.
Couldn't stop reading it.
The characters are so relatable and interesting.
The humour is so well balanced with the plot.
The power system is interesting and well thought out.
I wish there was more than just 3 in this series but all good things must come to an end.

Brilliant story. Excellent Narration.
A different take on the time travel groundhog day type genre. The narrator really brought the characters to life and didn't detract from the story at all. Highly recommend.
