Publisher's Summary

“Shh,” he whispered next to my ear. It wasn’t an urgent plea to be quiet. It was a command, delivered with a slight thrust of his hips. He was about to melt my La Perla thong right off me.

Cameron Whitbury is used to engineering her way out of any problem. But someone is after her, and she doesn’t know who or why. Throw in the threat of a sex scandal and the frustrating antics of the entitled son of her company’s founder, and she might be in over her head.

But sacrifice her privacy to an overprotective bodyguard? No thanks. She doesn’t need a six-foot-five, motorcycle-riding, square-jawed, hazel-eyed man-beast shadowing her every move.

Jude Ellis is ready to retire from the cloak and dagger stuff to live a normal life. He doesn’t need another client. Not even one with coppery-red hair and mile-long legs who looks hot AF in a sexy pair of heels.

To appease her worried friends, Cameron hires Jude as her bodyguard. And despite their feisty banter and their rampant - and totally inappropriate - sex fantasies, they’re both determined to keep it professional.

But as the danger to Cameron escalates, the heat simmering between them just might combust.

Author’s note: Big wall-of-man hero with a fierce (and growly) protective streak. Confident and snarky heroine. All the banter. Sex in a closet. And a daring rescue with a big, heart squishing HEA.

A Fun Twist on the Billionaire/CEO Trope

Overall 4 stars
Performance 4.5 stars
Story 3.5-4 stars

This was a great story to get lost in during this time of social distancing. It was a nice twist on the billionaire/CEO trope to have the heroine in that role. I really loved how intelligent and driven Cameron was and the strong female friendships throughout the story. Cameron's banter with Jude was so fun and I loved the build up between them. They both are slow to trust for various reasons and I really enjoyed seeing them let the other in slowly. It certainly didn't hurt that Jude was a big and protective alpha on the outside, but a teddy bear inside either. A certain scene in a storage closet was crazy hot and I might just need to read all the bodyguard romances now. ;) There is a bit of predictable suspense and action and I did feel that the ending wrapped up a little too quickly and neatly, but the epilogue left me smiling and the bonus epilogue was the cherry on top. If you have a chance to read the author's note at the end of the ebook version, I definitely recommend it too. I always find them extremely informative and insightful and wish they could be included on the audiobook.

I really enjoyed the narration by Joe Arden and Desiree Ketchum and thought they did a fantastic job bringing Jude and Cameron to life. Joe Arden is one of my favorites and I love how well he can narrate male and female characters. This is my first time listening to Desiree Ketchum and I was pleasantly surprised. I liked her inflection and comedic timing, but I would have liked a little more variation between her characters. Overall, this was just the kind of fun romcom that my heart needed.

Beautiful, Bold Romance!

I loved Cameron and Jude's love story! The audio performance added texture to these characters. They came to life with vivid strokes of the author's words and the narrators' voices. The characters are endearing and bold. This romance has witty banter, sexual tension, and a bit of suspense. The story flows with ease, emotion, and intrigue. Fantastic read/listen!

Key Lime Tarts and Jimmy Choo’s

It is so fun getting to experience these books like this. The narrators do such a great job of bringing Jude and Cameron to life. Listening to them give personalities and emotions is a great way to just get lost in the story. And Jude and Cam are so cute. With how they were tricked by her friends to work together in the first place, hearing more about the Bluewater world, the enjoyment of hearing references from other books, cough cough Salishan Cellars wine... all tied up with a beautiful bow of happiness. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to look for a Key Lime tart and some cute Jimmy Choo’s 😉

Holy smokes this book was good!

This was such a fun book. I am so jealous of Cam's shoe collection. Jude is such a hot hunky man, oh my goodness. With Cameron and Jude together we can certainly figure out where the flames are coming from. Ooooo la la the chemistry that these two have. Its enough to get a gal hot flashes. Now I'm off the Luna's story. Hope you all enjoy this book because I sure did.

<A great, funny and swoony read

This is a great series to be reading. I have read a couple of the authors previously and enjoyed their independent books, but having them combine forces is a treat. I'm looking forward to read the rest of the series. Not just because of the authors but because of the characters. Great laughs, swoony men, strong independent women who have made it in a mans world and a crazy neighborhood.

Cameron and Jude have amazing chemistry from the moment they meet. Cameron is a wealthy independent woman running an aerospace company. She is smart, sassy and loves shoes and doesn't need a man or so she thinks. Being a high powered businesswoman puts her in the spotlight, good and bad and in this case bad but she doesn't need backup, right? Her friends have other ideas and enter Jude stage right please and thank you. Yum. Jude. 🔥🔥 A man looking to retire from the spy game but getting drawn back in again. Because whether Cameron likes it or not, she needs him.

This was a great book with many twists. Love the world that was created and look forward to reading the rest of the series. The narrators did a fabulous job with characters.

Adorable!

This is such a fun and silly book with a small threat of danger. I like how all of the books in the series tie together but are written by different authors. It gives you A little variety in the writing style but still maintains consistency in characters and settings.

Superb Story, Wonderful Male Voice Actor, Annoying Female Narrator

The story is amazing, and I’ve already downloaded another of her books! The closet scene - wow! Joe Arden is one of the best male voice actors that I‘ve heard, and I’m a little in love with him, but I seriously want to slap Desiree Ketchum for almost ruining this book! Her whining, nasal, OMG-I’m-trying-to-sound-like-I’m-15 voice, and her tendency to exaggeratedly draw out the last syllable of every phrase almost had me returning the book. I’m thankful she didn’t narrate the whole thing!

The Mogul and The Muscle

Audio: The narration was PERFECT there isn't a single thing I would change. Joe Arden took this amazing book to another level. This was a first listen with Desiree Ketchum, but will definitely be looking for other works.

Story: This group of women writing this series is amazing. I love how the story flows seamlessly from Lucy’s TPOS into Claire’s TMTM you wouldn’t know that different authors wrote the stories because the settings and characters flow so well its seamless. For this book itself... AMAZING all the stars! I love how quirky the characters are with their one liners and hints of humor, and they have so much heart. Love love love this book! Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

An absolute must listen!!

I love this series so freaking much!! I read it first in print, so I couldn't wait to listen to it. It was just as amazing in audio! I started listening, and even knowing what was coming, I had a hard time stopping for anything! Cameron and Jude are so HOT!! I absolutely adore that they are both such strong characters. Cameron is fiercely intelligent and independent, and Jude is an alpha protector (with a heart of gold) through and through.

I loved watching Cameron and Jude come together, because neither of them really expected it. They weren't really looking for a relationship, but their sparks couldn't be ignored. They are both phenomenal characters on their own, and together they are perfection. I loved watching them both fall, because it brought out a different side in each of them. Jude is the CIA guy with a special set of skills, but he also can't look the other way when someone needs help. I love the way he is able to protect Cameron without making her feel helpless. And I love watching Cameron's walls fall as she begins to let Jude in.

Add a fantastic group of friends to their romance and so many laugh out loud moments, and you have an unputdownable (new word, just go with it) combination! This book really has it all. I loved seeing more of Derek and Emily from The Price of Scandal, and getting to know the rest of the Bluewater Billionaires a little bit better! While this series is made of standalones, I don't know how you could read one and not want to dive in with the others immediately!

I love Joe Arden, and he didn't disappoint with this one. Desiree Ketchum was new to me on this book, but she did fantastic as well. These two brought Jude and Cam to life perfectly. They brought all the emotions to life, and really became these characters! I wouldn't hesitate to listen to them again and again!

too far from reality

a little too much fantasy for me, but some may like that. All scenarios, all characters a little too OTT. narrators didn't work for me either, made storyline more surreal, so wasn't pulled in.

Narrator choice is so important.

The narrators can be the difference between liking and loathing an otherwise good story.

This one was....annoying.
Desiree Ketchum has this habit of reading the 'script' in sentences, full stops, and the exact same repetitive tone to each sentence. Narrators should act just a little, not just read.
And I know Joe Arden has a sexy voice, but his female voice is shocking. The females all sound like Tootsie. Thats why this is the last time I'll take a chance on him.
