Four years may have passed by between hockey captain of the Copper Valley Thrusters, Duncan Lavoie, and head batting coach for the Copper Valley Fireballs, Addie Bloom, but that’s nothing a little fitting room meet-disaster can’t fix ! As always Pippa starts us off with a serious laugh-out-loud moment that then leads to a complete disaster . This setup is one of the reasons I love reading Pippa’s books so much because I eat this up every single time . I also loved seeing so many previous book characters pop up and how they are so involved with each other’s lives .

This is audiobook six in The Copper Valley Thrusters series and it can be listened to as a complete stand alone .

2nd chance, meddling friends, strong female &spice

To the point: Female BB coach/Hockey captain, 2nd chances, meddling teammates, female empowerment, and of course the famous Pippa Grant rom com and spice.

Fangirl: OMG this was just so good. It was the perfect mix of both teams, of old characters making appearances but of a new love story, of heart and spice. I think Addie is my spirit animal. I have been in the dressing room dealing with dresses just like her! Too bad I didn't have a Duncan! This book just filled my heart and I didnt want to stop reading til I was done, and now I want a reread of both series! I am so happy that Addie found such a supportive partner. I love how Duncan is with his niece, just adorable!

Need to know: This book can be read as a complete stand alone. Everything you need to know will be given to you. However I feel that you will get more out of it if you have read the Fireballs and Thrusters series as the two main characters are from each team. And we also get a lot cameos from previous main characters from both series.

Sad to say but this almost feels like a closing out of the series for both of them. But what a way to end on a high note. And it was amazing to visit with some of my favorite past characters to see them past their HEA, past their retirement, and them living their best lives.

Also note: I listened to the audio of this book. I love Pippa's narrators. She always does a good job of picking them. I think audio really helps to connect to the characters quicker than just reading. They did a great job.

Duncan and Addie

A second chance at love story. These two are amazing and relatable. I enjoyed their chemistry. This book has me laughing out loud and I shed a few tears. I love their support group from family, friends, and teammates. I enjoyed seeing past characters but this can be read as a stand alone. I need more from these two teams. I just love the way Pippa writes. The narrators did a fabulous job with the characters. It brings another side to the characters.

Great love story

Yes you can over come your fears and let love in ! Can’t wait to see what’s next! Hopefully down the road Pasley get a book !

Delightful, Heartfelt & Entertaining! Loved it!

Pippa Grant pens another delightful sports romance novel, a romantic comedy that captivates your attention from start to end, tugs at your heartstrings and has you smiling ear-to-ear. This book brings together Addy Bloom, the Copper Valley Fireballs’ baseball teams’s batting coach and Duncan Lavoie, Copper Valley Thrusters’ hockey team captain. Female coaches in professional baseball are not a common thing, and Addy had to work extra hard to prove herself and continue to do so to maintain the respect of her players and colleagues, even keeping her dating life a secret, something Duncan is fully aware of. He thinks she is the one who got away, and he wants a second chance with her, but he has his work cut out for him, and a charity auction is his in. I admired his determination and enjoyed watching these two got back-and-forth with each other and then watch their relationship grow and more into more. This is a wonderfully entertaining story, and I loved how it all plays out, with the perfect balance of drama, humor, witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Piper Grant, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Virginia Rose and Tim Paige were fabulous performing the voices of these characters, and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. Rose absolutely nailed it as Addie, showcasing all aspects of her personality, from her insecurities to her fiery fierceness, and Paige did the same as Duncan, and was just as amazing. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Hilarious and Swoony

Pippa Grant writes some of the best light hearted, laugh out loud rom/coms you could ever want. Three words Dressing Room Scene. Ladies you will feel seen. Loved the performances. It was a very fun audiobook with a great HEA.

Contemporary

This was a great rom-com romance. It had me laughing from page one. The storyline, characters, and steamy scenes were entertaining. The narrators did a great job.

So sweet and funny

This one had my eyes welling up, it was so sweet and amazing. That moment between Addie and Paisley was freaking everything and alllmost overshadowed Addie and Duncan's relationship. But really, girl power and girls making space was the overriding theme in this story, so I shouldn't be surprised. Addie is everything I want to be in a role model for my daughter and I love her so much.

And Duncan? That man knows how to lift the women in his life up. I adored that he fell first and how IN he was from the start. Perfect book boyfriend material and a dang fine uncle to boot.

The audio was great. I really loved Tim Paige and Virginia Rose as Addie and Duncan and very much enjoyed this listen.

Enjoyed

I enjoyed sitting. back and listening to Tim and Virginia perform as Duncan and Addie. I always look forward to listening to a story in the Cooper Valley Thruster series. Current on all of her books. Addie as the batting coach was perfect. Cameos by some of my favorite characters was a wonderful surprise.
