To be clear, I didn't want a bodyguard (hence the fake dating idea). Most days, I can’t figure out why he wants the job either. We drive each other insane, probably because we’re as opposite as two people can be.

He’s suspicious, never talks about his past and has the comfort skills of a cactus. I’m a happily-ever-after kind of girl who knows exactly what she wants out of life.

Erik’s words might say that the lines have to stay firm between us, but those dark eyes of his? They tell another story when he looks at me.

He’s just as stubborn as I am, but when our fake dating plan starts to feel a lot more real, it's only a matter of time before his professional walls come crashing down.

I just have to hope my heart doesn't get buried in the rubble.

Loved it

The Plan is a book that will draw you in and keep you riveted from the first chapter.
The last thing Lydia wanted was a bodyguard, particularly a man like Erik Wilder and yet she
finds herself fake dating him as a cover.

I really liked both Erik and Lydia; he’s a bit of a grump and most definitely stubborn, but
there is something about him that keeps draws Lydia to him. I really liked Lydia, she is such
an engaging and caring character that you cannot help but like her.

What will happen when the sizzling attraction becomes to hard to resist and lines will be blurred? I thoroughly enjoyed the push and pull dynamic of their relationship as the tension build until it explodes.

There were moments where I laughed and times where I swooned in this entertaining read. Erik and Lydia could not have been more different and yet they really were well suited to one another.

This is a little gem and one I suggest you one click, I don’t think you will be disappointed. The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter took this book to another level for me.

Love the Wilder and Washington Wolves families!
Each story gets better and better and I find myself wishing I was part of either family.

Not your Formula Romance

The story was unique compared to other sports romance. Enjoyed readers performance. A must listen.

Unexpected, but expected love story

We got tropes on tropes with this story.

Slow burn
Close proximity
Age gap
Fake relationship
I’ll even say it’s a sports romance.

Here’s the thing, I’m not a fan of a lot of age gaps, this one was about 8 or so years, but Lydia is wise beyond her years, while Erik is still flailing from a life he had to walk away from.

And while we had all those tropes going on, Karla writes moments that just stick with you. Like, I found myself holding my breath in anticipation or maybe anxiety? Who knows! I just knew once it was all said and done, I felt relief.

This isn’t a heavy book though. It’s paced well and has some sweet moments. The hero is grumpy. The heroine is the sunshine.

Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter are a great pairing. Teddy absolutely nailed it with some of his scenes.

Overall a very good audiobook for me.

One of my favorites!!

WOW!!! Lydia and Erik.....I think they may have taken the top spot as my favorite Karla Sorensen couple. Don't get me wrong - each couple she writes, I absolutely LOVE. They all have magic between them. But there was just something different about Lydia and Erik that I couldn't get enough of. These two just oozed chemistry right from the beginning and I was hooked! Seriously, the way Lydia would tease Erik just to mess with him - it just drove that sexual tension and attraction between them off the charts, until it finally snapped - and then they couldn't hold it back anymore.

Of course, I also loved the family aspect of the story, for both Lydia and Erik. I always love seeing characters that I've loved from earlier books in the Washington Wolves world (I mean, Dominic being the tough big brother - that scene had me cracking up!)...........and the Wilder family, GIMME MORE!! I loved them all and hope she decides to write more about them because they are something special too.

Truly, this is one of my favorite books from Karla.......I really can't pinpoint exactly why, but I think if you've read this world from start to finish, you'll probably understand why. And if you haven't read anything yet from this world, you are truly missing out on some of the most incredible stories that you won't ever forget. Plus, listening to Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter bring Erik and Lydia to life - ahh! It made me love this story even more!

This has to be 1 of THE BEST books I’ve ever listened to. I’m so addicted to audible n have over 600 books in 3 yrs n this is in my top 3… I like the college/sports genre but this is also a great suspense!!! It’s completely different n a nonstop listen!!!

Good story and great narration! Grumpy, protective guy / smart, sunshine girl is my favorite romance trope.

Great Series!

I loved the performances and the story. I started in the middle of the series with this one and went back and read the other two. I have sporadically read the other books with the Wards sisters and am looking forward to the Wilders branch of this world.

Lovely story

I love the Seattle background. No questionable facts other than it’s a 5 1/2 drive from Seattle to Sisters.
