Great Book

I love everything I read by her and this one doesn't let down. Must read!

I have read almost everything this author has written and never been disappointed. I know you will enjoy this book as much as I have.

Birth of Calvada!

I enjoyed reading this book by Francine Rivers! This was the third book that I have read by her. I enjoyed the time period, the characters, and it kept my attention. This would make a great movie someday.

Did I miss something?

I really enjoyed this book but did I miss something? Katherine received a letter from her stepfather saying he was sending man to run mine. But that whole storyline disappeared. Yes her husband would be in charge then (supposedly) but there was no writing back saying don’t bother, and his subsequent anger at losing the mine. I thought maybe he’d die and her mother and brother would come.

Didn’t want it to end

Loved this story! Clean, Christian romance. Great adventure in a quaint mining town. Great narration too!

An uplighting story despite the struggles of a mining town.

I loved the heroine’s can-do spirit, but it sometimes got her in trouble. Rivers filled the fledgling settlement full of different characters to bring depth her story and the listener eager to listen. I even chuckled in a few places.

What a great listen this book was, I really enjoyed the era and story line.

Clarity

Once again, Francine Rivers combines Biblical truth with a fiction love story that is clean.
