Long ago, following a cataclysm called the Rupture, the world was shattered into many floating celestial islands, now known as arks. Over each, the spirit of an omnipotent and immortal ancestor abides. The inhabitants of these arks each possess a unique power. Ophelia, with her ability to read the pasts of objects, must navigate this complex world using her trademark tenacity and quiet strength.

With its unforgettable heroine, rich and bountiful universe, and intrigue and suspense, Christelle Dabos's highly acclaimed The Mirror Visitor Quartet is perfect for fans of Margaret Rogerson’s An Enchantment of Ravens, Melissa Albert’s The Hazel Wood, V.E. Schwab’s Shades of Magic series, Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone, Kenneth Oppel’s Airborne series, and N.K. Jemisin's Broken Earth series.

This omnibus edition includes all four books:

  • Book One: A Winter's Promise
  • Book Two: The Missing of Clairdelune
  • Book Three: The Memory of Babel

It was a really interesting idea and well executed, but it got very confusing and detail oriented and the relationship never really went anywhere. I wish I had stopped a couple books in.

Started off good, got worse

The very beginning said something about "god" so I almost didnt listen. But it's not abot God, it's just a good scifi story and i really enjoyed it.

Almost didn't listen because"god" talk

Although the narrator created different voices for each character, I disagreed with the personalities those voices implied.

Great story. Disappointing narrator

I wish the ending was happier. I wish she got her love in the end.

The voice actor for the most part kept up with the different voices

weird long pauses, huge differences in volume that made me keep having to turn the sound up and down in order to understand. also disagreed with her portrayal of a few of the characters (Archibald particularly) and the way she interpreted lines differently from how they were written, ie one character says something "sensuously" and she shouted it like an old timey auctioneer, or the text says the character rolls all their Rs and her narration doesnt do that (i get its a translation but its still in there). shes good, just too many hours in a row of this stuff and it started to really grate on me.

the first two books i loved, this lost me part way through the third.

narrator not my favourite
