A man is held prisoner for most of his life and is forced to wear a mask. There is much mystery surrounding the reason for the mask, but a likely reason is that the prisoner's true identity would threaten the reigning French King Louis XIV. This novel is thought to have some basis in fact, but as the situation was such a mystery at the time it is hard to speculate on what aspects of the current story might be accurate.
This audio classic novel has been carefully abridged and adapted into 10 short, easy-to-understand chapters. This format enables listeners of all ages and English language abilities to understand and enjoy the story. Composition includes original custom background music. Accent
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
The book is fairly accurate, though I think the order of Chapter 1 and 2 should be reversed for better understanding of the chronology of the story.
What aspect of Iman’s performance would you have changed?
The pronunciation of the character's names was not accurate. There should have been a better delivery of the names. It is distracting.
