Fun and bittersweet

A great narrator, and lovely prose. Nice twists throughout kept me guessing along the way. Very nicely done.

Kept me interested

Not usually my type of story but I enjoyed it. There were times I could see where it was heading and wanted to skip forward but I’m glad I didn’t

Beautiful

At first I thought this might have been too YA for me but I gave it a chance. I'm so glad I did. The characters were well written, the description of the Island was enchanting and the plot line kept me interested. I loved the narrator - she did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this book.

Delightful!

Enjoyed this novel very much. It had adventure and full characters and it was interesting and believable even concerning magic and it’s use. Narrator did a great job.

I love this book! It was so good. I love the character development and depth. The reader was great, and the book is clean with no swears or sex. Simply lovely!

Couldn't get into it -

The book seems to be well-written, and the narrator was very good, but I gave up after a few chapters. There seemed to be an excessive amount of slow-moving backstory, and that just didn't work for me.

The book uses super stock devices for a female coming of age novel involving magic, but it's well written and good entertainment.
