What they have in common is a hunch about human psychology: that it’s our constant effort to eliminate the negative that causes us to feel so anxious, insecure, and unhappy. Publisher's Summary
Little changes can make a big, big difference! In The Little Book of Big Change, psychologist Amy Johnson shows you how to rewire your brain and overcome your bad habits - once and for all.
No matter what your bad habit is, you have the power to change it. Drawing on a powerful combination of neuroscience and spirituality, this book will show you that you are not your habits. Rather, your habits and addictions are the result of simple brain wiring that is easily reversed. By learning to stop bad habits at the source, you will take charge of your habits and addictions for good.
Anything done repeatedly has the potential to form neural circuitry in the brain. In this light, habits and addictions are impersonal brain wiring problems that result from taking your habitual thinking as truth, and acting on that thinking in the form of doing your habit - over and over. This book offers a number of small changes you can make in your everyday life that will help you stop your bad habit in its tracks.
If you want to understand the science behind your habit, make the decision to end it, and commit to real, lasting change, this book will help you to finally take charge of your life - once and for all.

If you're ready to change, this is the book
Would you listen to The Little Book of Big Change again? Why?
I mean, WOW!! For anyone like me that has struggled for decades with one or more unwanted habits, this book is a permanent game-changer. In addition to Amy's insights into the nature of thoughts & emotions as they relate to addictions, obsessions, compulsivity, etc. being spot on, her book is extraordinarily well written and refreshing in it's simple (but not simplistic), clear, easy approach. And it's completely devoid of all the usual psycho-baffle-gab so commonly found in the self help genre. As a result of the freedom I acquired through the insights written about by Amy, I am not only recommending this book to my own clients, I am retaining Amy as my own life coach. If you are looking to free yourself of one or more unwanted habits, even if you've tried everything under the sun, the answers in this book are what you're looking for. If you are already a practicer of mindfulness, this book will add even more to your understanding.

Take the pressure off
This great but very simple book gave me insight into my mind and habits at a deeper level. It showed me the one simple truth. There is nothing wrong with me. I am already enough. Amy showed me that my thoughts are not who I am and it is living in the moment and not in my thoughts that is where peace lies. I could say much more but I suggest if you are looking for joy, peace and happiness in you life, read or listen to Amy. Everyone needs to read this book today.

Excellent 3 principles teaching with emphasis on beating habits.
I have read Jamie Smarts "Clarity" and got very interested in the 3 principle's. It helped me see the world in an amazing new way, To actually glimpse the real me and see that I am not my thoughts but what is thinking those thoughts. Clarity was more a general look at the principles with some emphasis on how to apply them towards business.
This books focus is on habitual thinking and gave me some very valuable insights into how to see habit in a new way that disempowers those habits and in so doing gives us freedom from them.
This is an excellent book. I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to beat a habit or anyone who is interested in the true nature of how we create our reality and how you might improve on it.

An approach most have heard, but forgot to apply..
I have heard some of these points in that movie "What the bleep do we know". However Amy puts it in a way that seems to have her own voice, but can feel believable because she isn't the only one stating it. Our habits, our brain and how we perceive our life comes up in this book. Makes you take a long hard look at what you can actually do and not do. I like the fact of not really having to do anything with my habit...goals, steps, checklists...none of that matters. Not even falling off the wagon matters. Just read this, you're bound to get some insight from it. That is the first step....INSIGHT.

A Useful Book
I found the audio book easy to listen to and the narration was very good. The contents was not as different as I imagined it to be. I am familiar with the Three Principles but I couldn't really see how this book was using the Three Principles. What I heard was what I've heard before in non-three-principles books. Nevertheless a useful book and my first experience of an Audibles book.

Beyond me how this has got good reviews
This book is hours longer than it needs to be, self indulgent on the authors part and the narration leaves a lot to be desired. Awful content, awful narration. I’ve gone back to it a couple of times to try and finish it. I can only assume the reviews were left by her family and friends.

I have been wasting money and my energy on diet after diet. From weight watchers to keto, from HCG diet to hypnotherapy. NOTHING worked. I had almost given up. Then I found this book. Needs more substaince and less new age waffle
Upfront, I think any reader needs to know that the book leans heavily (and in my opinion) unnecessarily on new-age thinking such a there being a "universal mind". The approach to overcoming addiction, using a no-will power approach, is well covered in books by William Porter and Annie Grace - without having to resort to new age gobbledygook. Compared to these books - "The little book of change" says less, is less concrete and the writing is laborious and reads like meandering hippie poetry.

Life changing
Do yourself a favour. Read this book.!!!
Then read it again. Her voice is clear and easy to listen to. A totally different way of dealing with habits that really helps you see them in a totally unattached way. Loved it.

excellent book to kick start habit change
Simple to understand concepts that don't make you feel overwhelmed. I like that it's not long but gets through a lot in the time.

Best Little Book of Big Change!
I thought this little book was superb! I'm a therapist and I work within a very similar frameworks as this book was founded upon; however I still got a lot out of it.
I would say that early on I wasn't sure if I was going to get too much out of it, however it just got better and better and more and more effective as it went along. I have started recommending this to clients who are struggling with cravings and urges to act in ways that go against their values.

So simple, so profound.
This book aims at changing habits and addictions but I think that the information within applies to a fuller, richer and more meaningful life. Embracing our HUMANITY fully.
