Story
Would you believe it took nearly 500 years to translate the ESV (English Standard Version) Bible? That's because the ESV builds on the great translations of the past - including William Tyndale's New Testament of 1526 and the King James Version (KJV) of 1611. But the ESV Bible also builds on the best Christian scholarship of the last 100 years.

Story
This book was written in Latin by Augustine of Hippo (354 - 430) to discuss the Trinity in relation to God the Word (logos). Even though it is not as well known as some of his other writings, it is considered by many to be his masterpiece and of more doctrinal importance than either the Confessions or the City of God. St. Augustine is considered a saint in the Catholic Churches, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the Anglican Communion. He is ranked among the doctors of the Church in the Roman Catholic Church.

Story
A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Packer, however, Christians have become enchanted by modern skepticism and have joined the "gigantic conspiracy of misdirection" by failing to put first things first. Knowing God aims to redirect our attention to the simple, deep truth that to know God is to love His Word.

Story
For centuries, the only way to access God’s word was to hear it read aloud in public gatherings. Today, many are blessed to own personal printed copies of the Bible, but there is a surprising benefit to hearing the Scriptures read aloud as it was for so many generations. Verses you have read many times will impact you in a new way when you hear them through the Listener’s Audio Bible (NIV). Read in a single voice with subtle background music, Max McLean’s skillful, engaging, but never over-dramatized style will bring the complete Bible to life.

Publisher's Summary
Relying on the work of more than 50 Bible scholars, as well as the input of a 60-member, multi-denominational Advisory Council, the translation committee chaired by J.I. Packer realized its goals of word-for-word precision and accuracy, literary excellence and readability, and depth of meaning. Written in language beautiful enough to be used for public reading, clear enough for preaching and devotions, and trustworthy enough for academic study, the ESV sets a new standard, and is truly a Bible for all people.

Poorly Organized
What would have made The Holy Bible better?
Unfortunately, the producers have arbitrarily created chapters that have nothing to do with the books and chapters of the New Testament. Therefore, the listener is unable to select particular books (Matthew, Mark, I Corinthians etc.) and listen selectively. I wonder if the producers have ever studied or read the Bible. The New Testament is composed of multiple books and epistles (letters) written by various authors. Most readers(listeners) will want to listen to selected chapters of particular books of the New Testament.
What could Various have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Organize the table of contents to reflect the actual books and chapters of the New Testament like every written version.
What didn’t you like about Marquis Laughlin’s performance?
Good performance.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Will not listen to this version due to the lack of organized table of contents.
