I've been a fan of Mel Robbins ever since I got the "5 Second Rule" audiobook a few years ago. I've heard all of her books but I haven't followed her podcast. I saw one of her TV Shows, I think it was the first one, I really can't stand TV (in general,) but I love her books. So I pre-ordered this one months ago, and it finally came out and I'm glad I was between books so I can take it on right away. I love the chapters on jealousy and guilt are really well done and chapter 14 was just AWESOME! She couldn't even read it without tearing up! Just totally lovely! Overall the book provides great advice mainly for being kind to yourself. Self care & love cannot be expressed enough, and she nails it and makes it very actionable! She is very entertaining with her f-bombs in the audiobook, a little tamer in the Kindle version :-) I will try high 5'ing myself in the mirror and see how it goes!

Mel is one of my favorite self development speakers. She is authentic, real, and gives you REAL & ACTIONABLE advice. She covers every day problems and how we can conquer them with simple and easy tasks. She's also a great and engaging narrator for her book. She cheers you on and motivates you to try what she offers. Highly recommend!

This book is one of the greatest I’ve listened to in a long long time!! I laughed. Cried. And held my heart many times. I’m motivated and inspired!! Such a simple concept yet so impactful!! Mel. Thank you!!!

Life Changing!!

I am a self help and self improvement junkie and this might be my favorite book in the genre. Ever.

I first heard Mel's infectious storytelling and motivation on the Minimalists' Podcast. 5 minutes in, I was ugly crying while driving home from Trader Joe's. Not because her story was sad or happy or anything else...but because it was SO TRUE. Mel resonates.

I immediately came home, renewed my Audible account, and bought it. I listened in a day and made a friend get it too. I have started the 5 day challenge.

Did this book immediately make everything in my life perfect? No. That's not the point. This book gave me the tools to honor where I am (starting over again...at 40...single...after a major job upheaval...and in therapy for my COVID related anxiety meltdown).

It's time for me to learn to be my own best friend, perfect partner, and cheerleading section. There is only one person I am gifted to spend the rest of my life with: me.

Mel does it again, this high 5 habit is a game changer. I feel like she wrote this book for me and everyone else who is caught up in negative thinking and low confidence. I also love the way she talks about looking for hearts. Since may I have been seeing random hearts everywhere and now I know why! Thanks you so much Mel!
