When the girl's (ultraviolet) ghost starts following him, Asher’s increasingly desperate questions send him back to Skysill Beach, the town where he grew up crazy, to start peeling away layers of greed, violence, and supernatural forgery. Soon he's stumbling onto murders, falling for a beautiful psychic, growing well-known to the police, and - briefly - becoming a ghost himself. (It's that kind of series.)
The ghosts have a world-shattering problem they want him to fix. But Asher has many, many problems of his own already - like, why did his long-vanished parents abandon him?
