great series

I really enjoyed this series of books. The storyline was good - full of magic, of action, of love, of dragons - everything a fantasy should have to make it complete. The narrator was really great - I don't know where she is from but she carried the Scottish brogue as if it were totally natural for her. This made the story more real to me but at times hard to understand - I had to listen closely to catch the meaning of some words. I would definitely recommend this series to others.

Satisfying end to the series

The Fathomless Caves refers to the vast, deep caves under the ocean that house the evil sea sirens in one area, and the Fergean sea creatures in other areas.
This segment revolves around the final battle between Lachlan’s men and the Ferg. We meet 2 new main characters that are supposed to be foes to the people of Elieanan, and learn more about Isabeau’s talents.
Lives are lost for a few we love, and love is finally allowed to kindle for others.
The imagery is exquisite as always, with less drag in the story than in the first few installments. Elle Newlands makes all the stories come to life with her thick brogue and lilting singing voice. I would not have enjoyed the books as much if I had read them myself.
This is a satisfying ending to an entertaining series! Stick with it, as the end is worth it. 👍
I gave the stories 4 stars instead of 5 because of the drag at times, and the extreme detail that slowed the action. It’s a hard balance, but in the end I can see that we needed the details to understand the characters and their world better. They will be missed.

Paganism wins the day

I wish the great Crusades had ended so beautifully. with the church and their nasty single-minded ways being put down for good and the ritiousness of Natural Paganism flourishing. the world would be so much more loving and accepting and clean

Great ending to a great series

I have read the paperback version of this book more times than I can count and I have loved this series since I first discovered it. I was so excited to see it is finally coming out on audible. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and speaking in a clear voice. Although the accent is heavy, it is easily understood and really brings the characters different personalities to life. The voices used make it extremely easy to differentiate between each character. I highly recommend this book. If you love a story of magic and sci fi filled with great accents and a gripping story then this series is for you. I really do hope that the next three that continue this story are added to audible soon.

So In Love

I am so sad this is the last book in this series! I will be relistening to the series many times over!

The only thing I didn’t like about this series is that it ended.

(Oh and it would’ve been nice to have some queer relationships shown too!)

Elle Newlands was an absolute joy to listen to. I hear her voice floating through my head sometimes when I’ve been binging the books 😂.

Love it!! I haven't enjoyed a series this much since Harry Potter!! And the Narrator, WOOW!! She does a great job in bringing each character alive, you can see the different personalities of each of them through her voice... I wish there were more books in this serie ... dont know why are there so few reviews to these books...
