Publisher's summary

An Amazon Charts, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal bestseller.

A pulse-pounding thriller of espionage, spy games, and treachery by the New York Times bestselling author of the Tracy Crosswhite Series.

Former CIA case officer Charles Jenkins is a man at a crossroads: in his early sixties, he has a family, a new baby on the way, and a security consulting business on the brink of bankruptcy. Then his former bureau chief shows up at his house with a risky new assignment: travel undercover to Moscow and locate a Russian agent believed to be killing members of a clandestine US spy cell known as the seven sisters.

Desperate for money, Jenkins agrees to the mission and heads to the Russian capital. But when he finds the mastermind agent behind the assassinations - the so-called eighth sister - she is not who or what he was led to believe. Then again, neither is anyone else in this deadly game of cat and mouse.

Pursued by a dogged Russian intelligence officer, Jenkins executes a daring escape across the Black Sea, only to find himself abandoned by the agency he serves. With his family and freedom at risk, Jenkins is in the fight of his life - against his own country.

slow plot with unbelievable main character

Thought the narration is good, and I'm happy to finally have an African American as the lead hero in a spy thriller, the plot is slow and the circumstance unbelievable.

Good story but long in the tooth

I love a story with good twists that leave me guessing. And I wouldn’t mind another book in this series. My only critique is that the peaks had very long valleys between them. At times it was hard to get through.

Wow

Book started like most undercover agent stories. I found myself literally on seats edge caring and concerned for the main character like I was a relative. I was literally cheering out loud and fist pumping during the last chapter. Great read I will be looking up other stories by this author. The narrator was very pleasant as well and did an excellent job with characters. You could tell what character was speaking without need of any mention of who it was in the story.

suspenseful!

Loved this book. I had a hard time turning it off. I spent a lot of time sitting in parking lots because I couldn't turn off the story to go inside. The narrator was very good. The story kept me on the edge of my seat.

Epic Narration

Maybe the best narration of a novel I've heard on this platform. An edge of you seat spy thriller.
