Publisher's summary

When passion begins to boil, fame and fortune no longer seem to matter.

The Duke of Ravenscar intended to debut the most acclaimed ballerina in the civilized world to open his London theater. But when the ship arrives with an understudy, Drake is convinced the fortune he has invested will be forfeit. Until he sees the woman dance.

Britannia LeClair arrives in London excited to be performing the lead in La Sylphide. A foundling, she has had to work harder and with more determination than anyone in the corps. At last, her debut in London proves her worth despite her lowly birth. Until she meets the smoldering gaze of the Duke of Ravenscar.

Determined not to become anyone’s mistress, Britannia keeps the duke at arm's length while she sets to uncovering the mystery of her parentage. With only a miniature painting and a monogrammed handkerchief, her inquiries lead to a series of escalating accidents and threats.

When Drake realizes Britannia is in danger, he will move heaven and hell to protect her...if the strong-headed ballerina will let him. As they traverse through the mire of skullduggery and hidden shame, events unravel to endanger them both. Will the truth prove worth uncovering, or will it sever the deep love that has come to bond their very souls?

A Lovely Fairytale

Great story in true fairytale style. I really enjoyed it as I do all of Amy's stories. She continues to be one of my favorites. Raphael Corkhill and his excellent command of accents delivered a stellar performance!

Nice Story

I started off really slow, I wish they made love more. Story only gave two explanations. I got upset that the culprit who kidnapped briant did not get his justice. In the story.
Overall it was okay

A disappointment

This story started out okay, but as it developed, too many inconsistencies with the time period and unrealistic actions began to appear. The narrator does a decent job.

Good book and good narration..

I wasn’t sure about this to begin with. Drake, the duke, was nuts about Britannia from the very beginning yet every time he kissed her he apologized, and was constantly thinking how he couldn’t have her because she was below his station. I got tired of that in a hurry. Anyway, after finding out who her parents were she was no longer beneath his station.

Soon, her life was in danger and it looked like someone was trying to kill her. Then it got interesting. I was afraid it was going to be 337 pages of a love story. And that would have to too much.

There was explicit sex in this but no swearing.

As to the narration: first time listening to Raphael Corkhill and he did a good job.

Did not Finish

A first for me and Amy Jarecki books but the narrator was SO BAD that it put me completely off. He is over acting, over emoting (same thing) so much that I can’t focus on the characters

Horrible - sorry Ms. Jarecki you deserve better.

Stupid

The story is incredibly boring and the reader does a terribly whinny female voice but he didn't have much to work with as a character. Glad I didn't buy any of the other books.
