Welcome back Royce and Hadrian

The Death of Dulgath is now my favourite book of the The Riyria Chronicles. The previous two books have given us more background on people that are important in The Riyria Revelations, but this book could easily be a standalone.

The plot is fairly usual,involving villains trying to assassinate a noble heiress, but the story certainly has some unusual twists and turns. I don't remember any of the characters in this book being mentioned in any of the other books. They are intriguing, well described and some quite unusual, such as the portrait painter and the storyteller monk. Events and people in this story will have an impact on Royce and Hadrian later in their lives and we gain more insight into their future outlook and emotions. The ending does not disappoint in any way, I enjoyed it and found it unexpected and clever.

The action is brisk and as I listened never wanted to stop. Tim Gerard Reynolds has narrated all Riyria books so far and I hope he always will. All characters are clearly distinguishable and the descriptions flow smoothly. His Royce and Hadrian are perfect, just as I'd imagined them, and to me they will always be as he has made them sound .

The conversations between our heroes is as witty and sharp as ever and the contrast in their characters make them the perfect pair to adventure with. Listen out for the time you hear Royce say something about ".....tea and cookies!" That was so unusually out of character it was a gem and I back spaced to laugh at it again.

I shall re-read Riyria all through again sometime and now it will be with fore knowledge that will add an edge, although I'm glad to have heard them in publication order to begin with.

Never One to Dissapoint

Sullivan keeps the legacy of Royce and Hadrian close to him, and the results do not disappoint. Aiming to keep the Characters from becoming worn out, the author looks to his fan base before deciding to tell more of their stories. The result is an epic chronicle of the deeds of two of the most beloved rogues in the fantasy realm. A self published masterpiece, this story is sure to go far. Tim Gerald Reynolds returned to voice the characters so many love, and continues to blows way the competition. Excellent addition to the saga!

Please sir, I want some more.

This installment was amazing! I eagerly await your next work. I simply cannot praise you enough for the excellent work that you have put forth in the creative writing that has made this series so amazing.

This series is insanely great, and these are just the pre-quels to the "real" series that came first! I don't care if i ever get there!

I really wish i had more to say but if you have read the first two, and come to love that special taunting and friction-based humor of the pair, and yet *still* their secrets even from each other, and their loves. And of course their schemes! Then you will love this work.

In addition it introduces one of the most compelling side characters since Gwen, and frankly a character worthy of her own entire series.
