I truly enjoyed listening to both books and getting to know the Characters. Their stories were truly interesting.

I always enjoy historical fiction and this continuation of the Davenports did not disappoint. The narrator was excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed the evolution of all the characters. A very heart warming storyline. I love that there is no unresolved twist and turns.

I didn’t want the story to end

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this collection of the Davenport books.

The characters were well developed & I easily became invested in their stories.

The reader did an excellent job executing the various voices of the characters.

I particularly appreciate how the story while fictional was inspired by CR Patterson - an African-American carriage manufacturer, entrepreneur and civil rights activist. Kudos to the author !!! I don’t know if there’s a third book in the making, but I hope so!

Lovely Depiction of Black Excellence in the Reconstruction Period

Loved everything about this book to include the forward thinking families of means and their values along with their effort to help others.
