Publisher's summary

From the USA Today bestselling author of Reel comes a powerful, "achingly beautiful" (A.L. Jackson) novel of one woman on the brink of making a decision that will change her life forever.

Kerris Moreton knows how to make things work. Bounced from foster home to foster home as a kid, she adapted; when opportunity arose, she thrived. Now, about to open her own business and accept a marriage proposal, Kerris is ready to build the life she's always wanted. The only thing missing? A passionate connection with her would-be fiance, Cam. Kerris wants to believe that sparks are overrated—until Walsh Bennett lights her up like the Fourth of July.

As one of the East Coast's most eligible bachelors, Walsh enjoys financial independence, fulfilling work with his family's nonprofit, and plenty of female attention. But lately he's been distracted by the one woman he can't have. Lovely to look at and even sweeter to know, Kerris is the soul mate Walsh never thought he would find. The problem is, his best friend found her first.

Life

I must say when I started listening I cheated and skipped to the end. I wanted to know how it ended. I was disappointed because I wanted “True Love” to win😊. I couldn’t stop listening. I rooted for Love the entire time. I hope there is a part two, a continuation of this story. If not I’m going to be disappointed. It was a good listen. I know this story mimics real life. So that’s why it rates 5 stars. Thanks Ms.Ryan for keeping it real.

the passion and longing was really there, great

the male narrator was terrible, like he didn't pre-read the book. he was flat, voiced wrong or no emotions that different scenes called for. I love Kennedy Ryan books and that there are always two people narrating. This is the first time one of the narrators missed the mark.

Underwhelmed

Have to say I was disappointed with this one, and I LOVE Kennedy Ryan’s work. It was hard to get into the book because the male narrator (Corvin, I believe) was soooo distracting. His whispering/faux sensuality really got to me. Moving past that, I wasn’t impressed with the ending, thought there should have been an epilogue or something. Overall the story had good bones, but fell flat.

Just Ok

It took a while for me to get into the story. I did not like Corvin King....it seemed like he was trying to hard to be sexy and a tortured soul.

Page turner…. All the way to the very end! The character development is great. I’m still rooting for Walsh.

The male narrator killed this story for me

The male narrator was pretty bad. His voice always sounded very breathy like he was was on the verge of crying and constipated at the same time. It took away so much from the story that I wish I just read the book instead. I pushed through because I am a big Kennedy Ryan fan and really wanted to know where the story was gonna go. The ending was realistic and I appreciated that a lot.

She did it again

I didn’t sleep all night listening to this beautiful, brutal love story! I cannot wait for the second book!

Male Narrator

I love Kennedy Ryan and the way she tells story.
I liked the story. Not all love stories have good ending. That's part of life.
But, the narrators especially the MALE NARRATOR, almost made me quit the story a few times. He made it hard for me to stay focused.
The voice of the female and male narrator not matching up to the same character pissed me off. It almost made it sound like the lead female character were 2 different people.
The whispering was unnecessary and distracting.

Depressing

No one gets love right in this book. Not a single hint of a HEA anywhere. There is a continuation coming but this was so depressing I don’t know if I’ll risk reading it.

a realistic story of soulmates

everyone doesn’t get the opportunity of being with their soulmate . You run into that person, and you both know it, but life happens. I really wanted them to end up together, but I know that this was a more realistic ending Kennedy Ryan. You are the best writer ever.
