Elle Kennedy
Get ready for another binge-worthy romance from New York Times best-selling author Elle Kennedy!
College was supposed to be my chance to get over my ugly-duckling complex and spread my wings. Instead, I wound up in a sorority full of mean girls. I already have a hard time fitting in, so when my Kappa Chi sisters issue the challenge, I can’t say no.
The dare: Seduce the hottest new hockey player in the junior class.
Conor Edwards is a regular at Greek Row parties...and in Greek Row sorority beds. He’s the one you fall for before you learn that guys like him don’t give girls like me a second glance. Except Mr. Popular throws me for a loop - rather than laughing in my face, he does me a solid by letting me take him upstairs to pretend we’re getting busy.
Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it’s fun to pull the wool over my frenemies’ eyes.
But resisting his easy charm and surfer-boy hotness is darn near impossible. Though I’m realizing there’s much more to Conor’s story than his fan club can see.
And the longer this silly ruse goes on, the greater the danger of it all blowing up in my face.

I love Elle Kennedy and the Off-Campus series. When she came out with Briar U, I jumped on board with this new series. She just knocks sports romances out of the park. You can read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the previous books as it will give you some insight into several of the other characters.
I am not sure if this is the last one in this series, but I just cannot get enough.
This one was not my favorite though. This is mainly due to Taylor and the constant insecurity around her weight. It is not very clear if she is even overweight as it only mentions her having some curves. I was annoyed with this as it was a little overkill on someone who really does not appear overweight at all. I do like how it hits on insecurities though and how Connor really tries to help her through this.
This does deal with issues/triggers of mental health, acceptance, family, love, body image and more. It had a little bit of everything.
I really wish the Off Campus Series and the Briar U series would be adapted into a TV series. It would be so good. I am obsessed with both series and all of the characters. I am heart broken to know this is the end of the Briar U series!

A slow burn friendship filled with lots of fun and flirtation.

Elle Kennedy closes out Briar U with The Dare, and folks, she did not come to play—unless we’re talking fake dating, emotional chaos, and enough swoon to cause a nationwide book boyfriend shortage.
Enter Conor: hockey golden boy, human green flag, and walking serotonin boost. Then there’s Taylor: self-doubting but secretly a badass, roped into a fake hookup dare that quickly turns way too real. Their chemistry? Instant. Their banter? Top-tier. Their angst? Whew, buckle up.
Conor spends the whole book being the hype man Taylor doesn’t believe she deserves (girl, please). Meanwhile, Taylor’s self-esteem battle overstays its welcome, but Conor’s devotion—complete with one-liners that should be illegal—saves the day. And yes, the I’m pushing you away for your own good trope crashes the party twice, but Conor’s refusal to back down? Chef’s kiss.
Is it perfect? No. Do we care? Absolutely not. Because The Dare is a flirty, messy, addictive ride, and if this is Briar U’s mic drop, consider it dropped.
Taylor, Girl, Just Accept the Love!
