WTAF!?!?!

How in the HELL!!! Can you, The author leave everyone hanging with a Cliffhanger like that!?!?! So damn jacked up!! Had I known book one was going to end like this I would have waited to listen to it until February 2024 when the 2nd book releases on Audible because I despise Cliffhangers!! PERIOD!!

Also, ya need a new narrator. This one was okay sometimes but she made the haroine/MC goofy corny and ridiculous and also Dorky and not in the good goofy. corny ridiculous type of way. NO! really just down right annoying at times. Had this book had the right narrator, all of those negative annoying quirks and a bad character like flaws could have been cute sexy and funny Like I always say,
" A narrator can either make or break an audible book. You need Michael Farriello! He is the most amazing funny intriguing and talented narrator I have haleaser of listening to. He does the best male and female voices for all different types if characters and he brings them all to life in such an amusing and captivating way. He is the best narrator for both male and female voices!👌 He does the woman's voices better than most women.

That ending though!

Ok so the first half of the book there is a lot of world building and information! Kinda slow but the last half of the book picks up and you get sucked in!
It ends on a Cliffhanger of all Cliffhangers !!!! Ahhhhh ! I am dying and the next audio book isn’t out yet!
Here I go to kindle to keep reading!

I cannot with the voice

I started this book because of reviews. People loved it. I was super excited. My problem lies with the voice actor. I cannot get into it. It makes Diana sound like a heavy smoker and as I've read in other comments, you cannot tell the men apart. I felt like there was a lot of running sentences where breaks were placed and it lacked the emotion for characters. Some of the verbatim was a bit poor and immature. I think for being a few centuries old, the tone and words spoken by the characters would have been much more mature and wise so to speak. So far, it feels like I'm reading a young teens book. I am not sure I will continue this book. If I do, I'll have to get an ebook. I think it would help to recast a voice actor or maybe even a male and female. I think it would help get more readers.

Would have enjoyed more with different audio actor

Audio narration really impacted my reading experience. Ideally would have atleast male and female narrators but even for Diana I don’t think the voice was a good fit. narrating the other characters was also disappointing not enough range and consistency.

For the story, much of the dialogue was immature and lacked depth. Diana didn’t needed to make corny jokes to lighten the mood all the time. Her character was also one dimensional in her sole focus on her sister’s survival. I didn’t feel convinced of the developing relationship and it shifted very rapidly from friendship to something very serious. The book also felt like it could have been edited by about 25%, many chapters felt like filler.

Literally the worst narrator

Literally the worst narrator, like almost couldnt listen to it because of how she emphasized random words.
But the story was good and interesting even with the giant plot holes and inconsistent magic system
So i persisted

narration wildly distracting

Fmc sounded to be in her 30-40s, not in keeping with the storyline. Found myself skipping forward. The cadence was William Shatner- like

DNF bc the narrator - which is a bummer bc I’ve heard great things but I couldn’t do it. Doesn’t happen often

No because this, THIS ONE RIGHT HERE OMG😭😭😭I NEED THE SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH AND FIFTH BOOK RIGHT NOW

Mixed feelings

This book was good but I felt like it was a bit forced and definitely too corny in some areas. I found myself rolling my eyes and wanting to stop at some parts because it was too forced. The overall story is good but I wasn’t on the edge of my seat. Some reviews say the ending was shocking but I didn’t find it that way. I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series or not.

The characters in this book are amazing. I can't get enough of Diana's sarcasm and comments.
